City v Saints post match

PEP: We had problems creating our build-up. There is a difference between the first and second half. Unfortunately, we could not win. #mcfc
: In the second half, we tried. There was chances and nothing else. We didn’t create too much but we were there. #mcfc
PEP: We are going to accept the situation. We are together. We spoke about the situation we have. We try to go up. #
You can win ten times and then you are not able to win five times. I have to discover the reason why and I am going to find that. #mcfc
PEP: Mistakes are not the reason - not Kolarov’s own goal at Spurs or missed penalties. There is something about how you react in situations
PEP: We will see tomorrow after the players’ recovery and we will decide whether it is good to make rotations (for United game). #

Mistakes not the problem wtf?

to be fair our reaction to poor games is piss poor also. Was under Pellegrini as well, we just seem to slumber in poor form for a while.

When its an out and out one man fuck up like today or Bravo its exactly that, a personal mistake and they happen.

Dont think we defended badly as a side today.

The point is that individual mistakes are as certain as death and taxes, and the key is to mitigate against the danger of self-inflicted disaster happening by not taking needless risks in stupid areas. We are playing a system that is the polar opposite of that

Pep is ruining City. I've been a Pep hater since Barca days. Bayern got the better manager (My posts month ago will back this up). Look, he has had success. No doubt. But he managed a Iniesta and Messi coming into their prime and a Bayern squad who was in the CL Final the year before. He never took the squad past where City made it last year on their own. The loyalty he has shown to the City fanbase has been disHARTening to say the least. We get it, you're the Alpha. But he's sacrificing our present for a brighter future and supporters have this misplaced hope that it will be better down the road. The only reason is that we're investing millions in the future. Nothing to do with him. He buys young players so when he leaves it is his "legacy:. Yaya and Hart treatment is terrible. The Kun rumors are terrifying. You have a top three striker in the world and want your own man. You can see this in his history from Samuel to Zlatan. Tactic formations are great but we don't have the back ups to replicate the class of the first team (no matter the reports of the press supporting his decisions). I realize most will disagree but sack Pep now before our squad is in shambles. Results show the true class. And in the end, Bayern is worse then when he took over. The young players are not the answer to a better manager (Carlo). Why should we have hope that the publics opinion that the young class should overrtake the older just because? Bayern was worse and Barca was coming into their hayday before him. Plastic fans will support him regardless but the true and through fans know he is a mistake.
Beautiful

Missed the game.... Waiting for the highlights

Still top of the league... After no wins in 5 games in all competitions... Typical city :)

for the first time i slightly disagree with pep here...mistakes are the problem and the ones by kolorov stands out as does the one by stones today.

i also think that since we went to 3 a the back to shoe horn an extra midfielder in we haven't looked as good........think (if we have the players to do so) we should go to 4 at the back again....it will open up the midfield a bit more for us and spread the field a little..its just too compact at the moment and unless you have a xavi, inset, messi or neymar then it starts to become very difficult regardless of who you are against.

A system and way of playing that isnt ever going to change whilst Pep is our manager.

We can have as many kittens and shitting fits as we like but that the situation and reality.

Pep summed it up perfectly to Stone the slug when he said, you would love it if i changed wouldn't you before reminding him its won him 21 titles in 7 years.

Like it or loathe it, thats it and as City fans we need to just get behind it.

We'll that was gash.
Too slow to get the ball up the pitch or from left to right. Always the easy pass.
Amazing that we are still top other League.

He's trying to take the pressure off the individuals that cocked up.

That's because he was on the left, it's been shown so many times this season that Sterling is far superior on the right. As soon as he was switched he looked far better - I'd argue fault of the manager not the player. Dinho was the pick of the midfielders by some distance even if poor by his high standards, fantastic pass for the goal & much more useful than Silva/Gundogan today, in my eyes at least.
Yeah that's because he was on the left, Sané played well on both flanks though.

He's had too much of it.

Not the best result today but it's early on in the Pep rein and we're STILL top.

Next five fixtures (inc scum) are all winnable, let's get another run together and I'm sure we can get a run and gather momentum like we did at the start. Onwards and upwards!

I am struggling to see ANY improvement either in terms of points gained or performances over last season.

And we've gone backwards in Europe to 2011 levels.

The thing is we can all say it's a work in progress season and we'll be better next year or two but he's only here for 3 seasons max and if we don't come out of this run in the next few games this season will have got away from him.

Managers have been sacked for letting opportunities like this one he has at city get away from them.

In my opinion no coincidence at all that Pep said we would be lucky to make top four this season. No coincidence him talking about the difficulties of making the next stage of the champions league. Absolutely no coincidence of him not ruling out staying longer than three years. My thoughts are he knows there is a lot to do. Ageing players, needs to shift some if the stars out even. He needs to bring through the youngsters. He wanted total control of all the playing sides. I reckon he knows he needs a couple of transfer windows. I don't buy this he will only stay three years cause he previously hasn't stayed anywhere longer than that. This is totally different. He isn't a quitter and will not walk away from this job if he has not been successful. Yes, he would get another top job but failure here would not sit well with him. He will get it right. If all my thoughts are wrong then we could be in trouble as I think we need longer than three years to get the club going in the right direction.

I thought the booing was for the time wasting from Southampton... it's pretty telling how teams are willing to start time wasting 10 mins into the second half and it's not been to protect a lead but to earn a point!

I've been saying it a lot that even though results aren't going our way we're not playing badly we're often the better team but we are literally gifting opposition goals they don't deserve due to individual mistakes. Against Everton if one team did deserve a win it could only have been us(any deluded Southampton fans need only to take one quick look at those stats today) BUT during the first half was the first time this season I thought we looked flat some may say we didn't do great in the first half against Spurs but we weren't flat and the own goal did seem affect the game, second half at Spurs I thought we edged and again the stats back that up.

I'm hoping today's first half was just a hangover from the Barca game... I'm glad to hear Pep has reacted to it also. I was ready for a transition period we started so well a lot of us thought we might have skipped it but now it's time to show patience(booing already is just pathetic IMO), our luck will change and we'll be back to winning ways before we know it but there will still be the occasional slip up.

sane looked pretty average to me

yes he set the goal up but he doesn't look great against packed defences...he is more a a player that looks good when a team are playing on the break.....hence his part int he goal today....he had loads of space and this is when he looks good but for the majority of the game he did very little

Average is a league above most of the performances today.
