Catch yourself on. Our reserves were the better team and the rag infested media can write whatever to f@ck they want but this just proves to me that we have a great project underway, with greT players and a greT manager and they are shite, absolute shite. By May the truth will shine through. I've never been happier as City fan as this football and squad is the best I've seen in 50 years and the best has yet to come. CTID
 
Don't recall Iheanacho having as bad a game as tonight and still think he influences and plays his best stuff from the bench. A few others not up to the mark tonight, Sane and Otamendi in particular.

I thought the young lads Maffeo and Garcia had good games, both are here to stay in our squad.

Overall though we weren't arsed about that competition and the team selection showed. Not overly disheartened. Must say I love that United towed to a shitty victory against our B team, will paper over their cracks a bit until the wheels properly come off at the swamp.
 
Anyways too much shit on here, some forumers have become cringeworthy since the past few months (last months of Pellers and now again). Just going to get on here when some actually realize its fucking October and not April. I judge people, but judge Pep when its May.

Do realize if we played a full XI we would face a WBA side away which din't have a midweek game while we would have come off 3 really tough games in one week (Barca away, Southampton and Rags) and would follow it up with another 3 in a week (WBA, Barca and Boro).

we have more than a plan a and b.....pep is constantly changing things on the pitch (one up top, two up top and that is just the very basics along with what he is asking the fullbacks to do and the midfielders....notice that none of the midfielders were dropping deep today (doing what ferna normally does.....notice that our wingers were really hugging the sidelines today and we were spreading the play a lot more instead of going through the middle...all different plans.......pressing on the firs pass instead of waiting for the second like w did against barca....again very different)......so yes not a plan b...but a plan a-fucking z!
 
A lot of positives from tonight. Garcia and Maffeo made a huge step forwards. Our reserves matched their best available team-at their place. Forget the press and the inevitable hyperbole. This team is moving in the right direction and Pep got the selection bang on. We now have a better chance of getting a result against Barca.

It's hard to take any defeat against them but it wasn't so long ago they had the priorities we now have. Games against Barca which they rested players for whilst we looked on in envy. Every time we played them we were full strength because it was one of the few ways we could extract glory from a season. They made their priorities clear tonight, as did we. I can't believe the change has happened so quickly. Fuck em.
 
Think that's the most unarsed I've felt for a Derby. They get a scruffy 1-0 win and we looked alright in some parts of the game. Lot of players playing are comfortable second string like fernando and oto, navas.
 
Was actually quite encouraged by the first half, given that we signalled intentions with a team of reserves. Navas and Maffeo pretty decent.

Second half abysmal with too many players misfiring. We have completely gone to shite going forward. Not even seeing a cow's arse, let alone hitting one.

Carlton and rags = second raters.

We rolled over. He selected a reserve team which made it obvious to the players that the result did not matter and that we were just fulfilling a fixture. Not surprised that we could not muster a shot on target. Tell me again which elite team we are playing on saturday?

negrado was on a 6-0 already...needlessly played and he never recovered.

Kdb -might have been a semi but it had a huge negative impact on a big part of our second half of the season....

these players need to be rested....its the docs and physios and analysts jobs to say when ...they count mins on the pitch and rest time......its so important.....why do you think the fullbacks are rotated so much (even Pellers did this)... - cause of the mammoth of ground they cover (probably more then most other positions)

Pep needs to see what he has in reserve,,,,he needs to do this to assess his squad (that cant be done fully if you are watching them just train)....he (as we do) know that some of those players that started tonight have no future past this season at city (navas, kolorov fernando possibly ottomendi) AND he will have also seen that the likes of maffeo and garcia definitely do now.

I think we have too many things going for us not too.

We will still make mistakes in games but our owners I have always had faith in and like Craig Bellamy said even though football is not an exact science they will not stop until we have success in Europe.

We will play much better football and more consistently under Pep with players who are ready made to take us to where the owners want us to go.

I know we can and will play football at a much higher level than what we saw in the first 10 games so don't think that the standard that's we reach over time its not even close.

What people have to understand is that many of our current squad and a number who played tonight are not able to play the football that Barca , Real , Athletico and Bayern play to name but four consistently.

If anybody seriously thinks any of the current sides like Spurs , Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are world beaters they are deluding themselves.

Two of them are not even in Europe at all and even if they were they still are just fair teams in a difficult but fairly average league competition.

But it didn't? It never looked like winning? Why not end a slump with a solid team and a derby win to boost confidence? Instead treating the fans like mugs and playing like bell ends
 
I understand all of the above, 4th most important competition, need to rotate, blah blah blah.... But if I could directly ask Pep one question.
If it were the equivalent situation, but you were still managing Barca v Real Madrid, would you have rotated ?

Its not getting beat that hurts, it is the getting beat by them !!!
