Showsec - again

Down our way (entrance T) they are now letting in bottled drinks as long as they are still sealed (or you claim them to be so)

Yeah my Uncle got stopped in CB lvl2 entrance with a bottle of water, said it was for tablets he took, as ut was sealed they let it in, but it seem that they stop this at south stand level 1 especially P the table is full of bottles and other stuff, and they drag people out of the queue for little things like folded e-tickets.

It was the checking of cards that really got to me yesterday and asking for them to be handed over to be inspected, something they are not allowed to do that anyway, also just the general rudeness of them, then you get inside and our stewards are fine.
I don't know why the club hasn't fucked them off and just employed more stewards, Showsec have been wank for years now.

When I arrived at K entrance I actually asked the steward why in the last few games had security been so over the top. His response was that it's pressure from GMP. That's fine, but my question is, are the Rags getting searched and scanned before their games?

If not then why are GMP treating City supporters like criminals.

We go in at Y
The queues have been for over thirty minutes for Everton and Southampton, so I got hold of the chief steward to ask him why they were confiscating food and drinks, and he told me "it was for my safety".
I asked him particularly how was i more safe if someone couldn't have their butties?
I've been going home and away since 62 and never been injured by a butty.

I wonder if its been introduced because takings are down at the outlets, which is no surprise as you can't get near them to buy anything.

I question the severity of showsecs conduct at the Etihad during football yet at all other venues and security contracts they hold that I've seen them operate at in Gtr MCR they are more lenient.
So one wonders, why specifically at Etihad during football ?

In fairness to showsec staff, their training given is shit, their vetting process is also shit (I went through it after being offered work by them)
They literally employ any fucker and pay peanuts (expect monkeys)
This is why I never accepted the work as I've worked alongside showsec staff at many venues including Etihad (stone roses gigs)
And many are Clueless with little English speaking skills, poor knowledge of the venues they are doing security at and so on... In general the debriefing before events is shit (or staff just aren't taking info in)

One of their offices is based on Stanley Street (near strangeways) and could be worth maybe contacting them directly about these issues.

Mini Hitler ****s with no authority.
One showsec jacket filler was questioning this guy next to me in the queue and pushed him back (physically)
Seemed very apprehensive and nervous, unable to deal with the situation.

Get some video footage, when the camera is rolling they will soon act differently.

In the north stand yesterday went in at 2:55 bag not checked and not wanded down at all this season.
Seems its more of an issue if your near the away fans ,maybe trouble at west ham playing a part ?

I think they reach a point in time and just relax everything. Against barca at about 720 the guys searching on que p suddenly stoped , something came over the radio and they ceased to search.

Perhaps City would like to explain to me, as a season ticket holder for well over 30 years, why they need to employ somebody from Showsec to scan me?

I've now been stopped and scanned almost everytime I've attended a home game. And tbh I'm starting to get pissed of with it. Whilst on other occasions I have been waved through.

I bet Serano, the directors, and other important people at City never get scanned. So if they aren't getting scanned, why should I be stopped, scanned, and even frisked?

I really am starting to get pissed of with how the club is being run, how it's treating the fans, and the direction the club is going in. Customer service, and how the club treating the fans is s***!

No doubt those at the very top never get to hear about how pissed off the fans are getting. I'm sure the reports and feedback from tbose below them paint a rosey picture of happy fans who don't mind being frisked, searched, scanned, having to queue outside, having to wait in refreshment qeues for over 15 minutes to buy drink, and/or food, etc.

The whole lot is a f***ing shambles, with no change and improvement going forward. Fanfayre my f***kng arse! Along with no feedback from the club, unless it get's to a low point like the ticket collection farce in Glasgow.

Question.

How is the *matchday experience* for you?

That was probably because the queue was so long and people were getting annoyed. I got there at 7:15 ish and got in at kick off

What's the issue with being scanned?
To be honest, as others have said I'm purely there for the football

Probably listening to lickspittles like worsleyweb who tells us its all brilliant and just getting better

The issue is that I'm being stopped, scanned, frisked, etc, before the start of home games.

I don't have a criminal record. I'm a life long City fan who has held a season ticket for over 30 years.

I'd like somebody at City, or even you, to explain to me why I should be continually stopped, scanned, frisked/searched before going into the stadium.

We have been at the Etihad for almost 13 years, and I've never known security like this. I appreciate we are living in a day and age of terrorism, but is the risk that high, that every home match is treated like there is a terrorism threat?

As for stopping fans taking drink and food in, that's more down to protecting matchday revenue and takings. That has nothing to do with a possible terroist threat.

What's this 'scanning' shit you're all going on about?

To be fair I've never had trouble with them

Never had so much of a look going into entrance P..never mind being searched

Never had any mither standing in 116 either..though I'm sure it's just tolerated there

They don't even bother with the toilet smokers these days

Pathetic today on P with the showsec clowns, asking to see cards before you were allowed to queue when I got there, they dragged 3 blokes out to look at their cards and asked if they had been drinking, took the card off one to inspect, confiscated a butty box and flask off some fella saying no food and drink allowed (Yes I know bottles are confiscated but flasks n pack lunches ffs), then told a couple with paper tickets to leave the line and fold their ticket properly before they could get near the turnstiles instead of just showing them how.

The everton and barca games ques were partly down to these wankers OTT security checks, with their stupid wands.
How was it last week at wba the security check was quick, friendly and efficient, unlike these lot.

Maybe you should contact the club and report what you witnessed.

I don't see the issue, I personally am glad that security is high profile at game no matter how effective it actually is. I'm sure if nothing was done security wise and a terrible event was to occur this forum would be awash with people being hugely critical of the club. Sadly it is the age we live in and if you want to blame anyone blame extremism and not the club or the guys on the front line trying to earn a living.

I can live with the scanning but it needs enough people to do it properly for everyone going in otherwise it's a big waste of time.

Taking food off people going in is a disgrace as is the don't stand, don't swear, don't show passion (except when we want you to), don't fart, don't pick your nose etc.

Sanitised cheesy shit playing chants through speakers....FFS

Match day experience.....turning more and more to rat shit.
