As a football club, do we have the will to win the League?

Performances of the players after big match Champions League games suggests not, but this is also mirrored in the stands.

Have we grown complacent? We've got Guardiola, we've won a few trophies. The fans are happy and satisfied. Watching MOTD it seems to me that the fans and players of Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are up for it in a way we are not.

In part this is a product of a club like Liverpool, who expect to win trophies, going so long without real success, and City a club whose supporters grew up in the shadow of Man Utd suddenly seeing their club move out of the shadow and become one of the biggest clubs in Europe. We are happy, but it doesn't help us on match-day. We just sit back and expect.

The self-belief and enthusiasm is building at Anfield. It's not the most important thing, but it's a factor. I don't suppose there is anything we can do about it.

I think a lot of fans just expect us to win every game and get the hump when we don't .under Pep the players will have a winning menatality otherwise they will be gone .it is still early days under the new manager .against Everton and Boro we played them of the park but could not hit a barn door .think we will see the real City after Christmas

we are holding on if you ask me champions league is a big push this season and needed a big win vs barca. we need the end of the groups winter break and then power on for the premier league and a couple of new faces in the jan window and the new hope in Gabriel Jesus

we will be right in the mix for the league and the top teams will drop points just like city its just about holding on and don't panic that break in the champions league is key to the next part of the premier league 8 weeks free of midweek football and the team can build and get fresh legs

Can't afford to sit around and wait for CL to be over. Liverpool and Chelsea and maybe Arsenal think it's going to be their year, and perhaps with good reason. I don't sense the belief is there amongst City fans. We know we have the best players, but the desire to run that extra metre, and do what it takes isn't there. It's a two-way thing from fans and players and it isn't there at the moment.

I don't see any problem with commitment and will to win, just carelessness and sloppiness at both ends of the pitch.

If we are thereabouts on 1 Jan after the Liverpool game I would fancy us.

I still think we need to have some full backs lined up for Jan though.

You also have to remember we finished 4th last season and only just at that. It's not like we were knocking on the door so we now have the same players who finished 4th and new players who need time to hit the ground running. Gundogan is only just getting going for me, Sane has done zero yet and Stones whilst being the best of the bunch is still error prone.

It's hard winning the league. In the last 5 seasons we have won it twice which is one more than anyone else.

It's between 4 clubs this season for me so we shall see.

Forming judgments based on a few games is always tricky.
My own belief is that lack of Champions League games is hugely beneficial when teams are of a roughly similar standard.

I think there are a few players who Marvin might have a point about. Careless mistakes due to lack of concentration is a matter of will/focus.

I think we have better players than our closest competitors.......we now need to develop the best TEAM.

Dippers & Chavs look a little bit better in that regard. We can't afford to lose touch.

Mentally I'm not sure. I thought the Barca game was a watershed moment, but then we arrived in the second half on Saturday with a complacency that's stopped us progressing for years.

Love that word 'complacency'. The players tried second half, it just never happened for whatever reason.

It was not through complacency. Ridiculous

you can laugh mate but he got everything wrong on Saturday. oh and at celtic, barca away spurs away .... shall I go on?

Who would you prefer managing us at present Bill? Anyone you seen who you think gets more things right than wrong who would be a suitable replacement for Fraudiola ?

Bill at it again.

Everything wrong yet we dominated a game, had many good chances and should have won.

Fine margins but to say he got everything wrong is being ridiculous or just on a wind up.
