Burnley - Post Match Thread

Tip for posters: Do not post anything that other posters may not like as you will be quoted repeatedly by man babies who get butthurt by it.

Seriously, get a fucking life.

We've developed a very encouraging ability to dig out wins away from home, and to do it with all those key players missing means Pep's gamble paid off big time. I thought that we started poorly but totally controlled the game after about half an hour, and deserved the win comfortably. I liked the way we defended and got the blocks in when we were ahead, and I see progress in the way we are learning to just see games out.

im hoping, over the winter, to see us developing strategies and confidence to break down defensive teams at our ground, and when that happens I think that will give us everything to march on and win the league (unless we get killer injuries)

I suspect i'm in a minority of one but I thought that was performance of the season. It was never going to be a Barcelona-style football-fest for the simple reason that Burnley set out to prevent that happening. And they did that very well as they have against most teams at home whilst ensuring that they played to our weakest strength (and I use the oxymoron deliberately) in the air.

Pep picked the ideal team for the job and it worked perfectly so we go home with 3 points and rested players.

I cannot believe the stick Kolarov and Otamendi are getting after withstanding an aerial onslaught all game. Indeed, Kolarov has been excellent for weeks now although some people refuse to see it. My man of the match today.

Just said Kola had a good game. Ota won just over half his 20 aerial duals which is decent in the circumstances; he just always seems to do a few daft things and that is what everyone seems to recall.

We do need a big imposing CB, with ball skills, for use in the Premier League and cannot rely on Vinnie being that man. Finding someone in January won't be easy.

Finding someone full stop won't be easy. Not sure there is one out there. I'd gamble on Van Dijk.

If it doesn't work, we still have the current ones. And Pep is not a manager who starts new signings regularly just because they are there, he makes them earn it.

You could equally claim dont get upset when the majority think your opinion is absolute bollocks yeah?

Agree on Kolarov yet you still get the usual balloons slagging him off pre game....

Top of the league, only lost once in 13 league games, won 6 of 7 away games and theres some right fannies on here flapping because we 'only' won 2-1 in a difficult away game, a game Arsenal drawn and Liverpool lost...ffs give it a rest.

Not to mention we're in the knockouts of the Champions League with a game to spare.

Good week - 3 at Crystal, 3 at Burnley and took care of Champions till Feb and no big injuries to worry about. Looking to have a go at Chelski with full team and fresh legs.

No. I posted to no one, just in the forum. They keep replying to me. If they think it's bollocks then fine, but the need to constantly say it to me is fucking retarded and reminds me of bullies in school.

Surely sharing your views on a City forum is always going to mean other City fans respond?

Its a discussion forum and replying is allowed.

My only disappointment today was sterling, seems to have regressed to his indecisive self after a great start to the season. Sometimes you can pull the trigger lad, and sometimes it will go in.

Like to see Sane get some game time now to give Raheem some competition, thought he looked bright when he came on.

Well, I got that right. I thought in the week it would be a daft score like 1-2!

It must be my long association with this club because I cannot think of another reason as to why I feel that every time the opposition are on the ball in our half they are gonna score.

'Twas nice to get two scabbers. Had that been the Swamp Donkeys at Turf Moor we would still have the garbage of not playing well but champions grind out a win! All I was hearing, when I hadn't got BT on mute, was what Burnley had to do to get level.

And Marriner? Andre Fucking Useless Marriner! It can only be an Act of God that he didn't shaft us. Every fuckin' touch by one of ours on one of theirs was a foul, t'other way round it's play on! This fellah shouldn't be anywhere near a whistle unless it's Tuesday and it's Siberia!

See the one where Sterling placed, yes, placed his hand on the back of a Burnley player in the first half and it was the dying swan mixed in with a swallow dive! And Andre Fuckin' Useless Marriner, Mr Totally Incompetent, sees it as a foul! Jeeeeeeeesus - Gabriel and Navas!

think it's time to give up on the match day forum. some pathetic comments and some from people who should know better. we have played away 3 times in a week and not lost - progressed to the last 16 and are at or around the top of the league and we have comments such as pep is a fraud (i think that was a wind up) and our players don't try! we have won 6 out of 7 in the league - beat chelsea next week and we are in a great place.
