We scored two scrappy goals and created very little over the course of the game. We might get away with resting both, if any of our wingers were on top form but they're clearly struggling at the moment. Without KDB & Silva we struggled for any creativity. We got away with it yesterday, we might not get away with it against a half decent side.
That's the whole point, pep would not play that line up against a decent side, he took the opposition into account and picked a team to play them, it's called managing resource and I think pep if very good at it :-)We scored two scrappy goals and created very little over the course of the game. Just as we were very unlucky boys when the offside wasn't given. Luck evened out, ultimately the correct decision was arrived at so I'm not really sure what your point is.Absolutely agree. But we've some very biased posters on here ignoring the clear fact that play did go on and it was a foul. So the ref cocked up twice. At no time does that not make it a penalty., unless you get into hypotecthical arguments about instant replays etc. In the laws of the game yesterday, the ref made two bad calls. One was the offside, so play continued. That's not up for debate, it continued. Then, he makes a second bad call, by not giving the penalty. We were very lucky boys in that instance.

That it doesn't let the referee off just because luck evened out.
Tbh I think you're just being incredibly contrary for no reason at all. It's good luck when a decision goes out way but not bad luck when one goes against us, that seems to be the point you're making. You'd be a good addition to BT sport. That it doesn't let the referee off just because luck evened out.

cant wait until we do create chances,
that's a chance every 4 or so minutes, after a champs league game on a Wednesday and we were away from home against a "local" side in a derby atmosphere

Deep breath buddy. It doesnt matter one bit if if he was off or not.
Two separate incidents to look at.
The foul was a penalty.
So the refs got two things wrong. That doesn't make one right, nor should they cancel each other out ffs.
And the funny thing is, if we were on the other end of that, you'd be the first one moaning.
jesus is it that hard to take the two incidents as individual to each other? Because when you do, the foul was clearly a penalty. People need to stop going "well this happened before it". It doesn't matter. Play continued, then the foul occurred. They aren't the same incident so stop treating them like they were just because it suits.
I'm delighted the ref ballsed up. It may have had zero influence on the overall game, who knows? But stop trying to justify a foul by reaching out to some other thing.
I'll ask again, if we were on the receiving end of that foul, would you not be up in arms, offside or not?

Both should have been, neither were, we won, the end.Deep breath buddy. It doesnt matter one bit if if he was off or not.

Despite it being offside before the foul and the lino missing it all the media went about was the officials missing the penThe only correct decision should have been FK to us for offside.
I'm not trying to justify the foul. My issue is that you seem to want to stress how incredibly lucky we were with one incident but you don't seem to want to acknowledge that we were as equally unlucky with the previous incident. As I said, you are just being bizarrely contrary.jesus is it that hard to take the two incidents as individual to each other? Because when you do, the foul was clearly a penalty.
