City v Watford post match

Thought our defensive play was as good as ive seen it this season, although, watford weren't the greatest threat we've played again. Yaya worked hard, its good to see considering last season he looked pretty lazy. Sterling played well. I was thinking, wouldn't it be fabulous if he could shoot! he gets into such great positions. Oh and gutted about Gundogan :-(

I must concur with the other peeps bud, i'm genuinely struggling to get the last bit, not having a bash,i really can't fully grasp what you are getting at bud.

Anyway my view is a win is a win but the loss of Gundogan puts a real damp cloth on it.

Edit: read your post above explaining :-)

My sub would be Iheanacho for Silva plus i would play also Sterling as a FW ...A target man instead of fluid midfielders ...4-4-f2 !

Not exactly vintage, but there was fight, the colander of a defence seems to have been temporarily plugged and we successfully overcame the 87th minute concession which seemed to be the norm when we were 1-0 up! No truly outstanding performances but a good solid shift from everyone.

Very solid performance. Clean sheet, a victory and three much needed points.

Zaba took his goal brilliantly; what a great first-time strike!

And finally, Merlin puts one away, though he could hardly miss after Raheem's stirling work.

I didn't think Watford offered too much going forward, but as we all know with City, one is never enough and I think we all breathed a deep sigh of relief when the second went in.

MotM? Raheem Sterling.

We won, but we were fortunate Watford missed that sitter
We are terrible in decision making around the opposition penalty area

Thought that was a lacklustre performance that was worse than how we played in a fair few of the games we haven't won. But we got away with it tonight as Watford missed a sitter and we managed to get the second goal.

Did well tonight but we really needed the second goal.

Hard to tell how solid we were at the back as Watford were poor.

Disgraceful how they started play after we'd kicked the ball out in the second half.

I was hoping against hope Friend was going to have some balls with the early booking for the foul on Silva but he reverted to type letting them niggle and kick us all game with no protection.

Good win. BUT...

Unfortunately, City players are targeted with the complacency of cheating refs and the tory c@nts in the press rabbiting about engerland footballing style, which is thuggish and neanderthal. That's why our defenders don't tackle but are tackled, remember when Vinnie won cleanly the ball from Nani and was sent off.
Nowadays if we dare to tackle it's an opposition's player thespian dive and a yellow for ours, but the other way around is always waved away. FArce.

So much dithering. Remember the days when we turned up and wondered whether we were on for another six - the season the Arse and Haringey got battered. Didn't seem to make a decision. Things just happened.

4 at the back and kept a clean sheet. Not rocket science is it!! Great boost for Sunday. Zabba rolled back the years tonight, fantastic performance. Great to see Andy morrison on the pitch with chappy at half time. Never forgotten big man.

No stardust but a more solid & pragmatic structure & performance. Some very neat build up play just let down by some final passes.
Yaya caught the eye in his deeper role....he worked hard on the dirty side, his passing was immaculate & got forward with some good runs. KDB worked his socks off & Zabba was tops for all but a ten minute spell in the second half.

We must get the killer goal earlier. Had Watford equalised with their only chance things could've been very different. Better.

I misread your name

Watford played like a rugby league side tonight and again no protection from the ref.

We were so low on confidence, flat crowd and a very disjointed performance, just no fluidity.

Can't say I'm looking forward to Sunday, we are going to have to up our game significantly.

As an aside, and maybe it's due to the lack of confidence, but absolutely no "style" to our play whatsoever. Other than a slight bit more pressing it was very reminiscent once again of a Pellegrini game.

Hey ho, roll on Gabriel Jesus.
