City v Watford post match

we was in full control of the game and for the first time in many weeks we kept a clean sheet

Good solid win against a very physical side. Had to laugh as fans around me who have been moaning when we try and pass out from the back were moaning when we just hoofed it up field. Make your mind up!

Seemed comfortable but felt nervy all night. Crowd was so so quiet

Not really surprising after recent results. It had Boro written all over it until we scored the 2nd.

This match was all about re-grouping and getting the points. Nice to get a clean sheet.

A real shame about Gundogan. On the bright side, Yaya is coming good and may well end up being an important figure for us again. Looked really well motivated last night and it seems he and the club have put all the crap behind them.

Had to watch the game on stream so you dont always get the best view. What I saw was an ok performance with not too much inspiration but three very weicome points. Whilst watching when Gundogan got injured I thought about this seasons signings:
Bravo - enough has been said on this one I think
Stones - Jury out but I think he will be good when we have decent support
Gundogan - Unlucky but has always been injury prone. How many games will he play
Nolito - good squad player
Sane - Dont know. Never plays!
Jesus - Lets hope.
All in all for the money spent not that impressive so far. Am I being too harsh?

Great much needed win, totally dominated however the igalo chance... last season he would have buried that then at 1-1 it's a different game.
But he didn't. Good momentum going into the huge game at the weekend, Fernandos had a few great performances against big European teams, definitely need one on Sunday.

I'd be a bit worried about him facing Arsenal and the dippers, both look a lot more mobile than us in midfield. He loves the big games though.

some harsh comments floating about. After months of watching our defense crumble to something resembling a infant school nativity, i would have thought a ground out win to zero would have pleased nearly everyone!! oh well.

i thought we showed what many cried out for, solidity from back to front, instead of 6 attackers and a shambolic unit of four, completely separated by 30 yards in the middle.

This, for me, was because of Ya Ya's performance. In part he played his natural game where so often you see him drop way back to pick up the ball and get stuff going but also it looked as if he were under instruction to play especially deep. it worked at the team knitted up nicely, motm for me.

Pretty solid performance from the team and some good individual displays. Silva and The Prince showed flashes of brilliance and Yaya looked ten years younger going box to box for 90 mins. Always good too see Zabba bang one in as well.

Comfortable win and a clean sheet at last! Gutted about Gundogan but was happy to see Yaya controlling the game again. Great performance from him and Zaba, with most of the rest pretty good as well. Nice to regain some confidence for the coming games.

Wishful thinking

We need to get the ball quickly out wide to Sane and Sterling and get them to run at defenders. When Sterling does that he terrifies defenders and he needs to do that more often. Nolito is very direct and tries to beat his man all the time. He doesn't have the pace of Sterling. Sterling and Sane could be devastating forwards for City and are not playing to their full potential.

It was clear to see we deserved the win, but it was also clear to see all is not well with the team we seem to be out of tune, and i have been thinking that the difference between chelsea and us is not the managers but the players, Pep has his work cut out thats for sure, anyway lets move on to arsenal a win and we could be back.

Could have been 1-1? Fuck off. It could have finished 0-2. It could have finished 8-6 but it didn't. We absolutely dominated Watford and managed to kill them off; something we've been really struggling with recently.

We'll have tougher tests and we'll have to put in better performances but the three points were fully deserved and thankfully we don't play Atletico Madrid every week.

But, because we weren't 2011 Barcelona and didn't score six goals, it was a Pellegrini performance?

People were moaning from minute one and looking for an excuse to have a hissy fit. One guy was screaming to take Clichy off after fifteen minutes and another knobhead seemed determined to tell everyone that all Watford had to do was get their free kick on target because Bravo is shite. Detestable fucking vultures who love it when things fuck up because the most excitement they get from watching football is the moment when they get to say "I told you so".

Absolute fucking embarrassment to be sat in the stands with wankers like that but stupidity rarely whispers.

otally agree with all you say. Some of our so called fans are a real embarrassment.

You'll never get past Fernandoooooooo, thought he was excellent when he came on, hopefully he'll carry that performance into the Arsenal game.

Wasn't a vintage performance by any means but perhaps our luck is changing, in the other 1-1s at home the opposition have taken their one chance, yesterday they didn't.

Good post

Yaya Silva and Sterling all standout for me.

Really dont want to see Nolito playing up front again, the poor lad looked lost.

Another 3 points at the weekend please.

yeah, the atmosphere got tense as Watford finally strung a little bit of play together, but the atmosphere palpably changed when they missed (Ighalo?) their chance. Past 3 months they've always gone in, it felt like our luck had changed and the confidence in the team changed once that chance went begging.
