Gundogan - Back training 26th June '17

Did mine. Fucking agony. Limped to the car with help of friend. Reconstructed a year later. Very neat scar. Whole knee gives me occasional jip.
Done it twice nightmare. First time was very painful and from an innocuous block. After intial pain I tried to play on but you know it
It's very common to be able to carry on playing on an ACL, it's only a stabilising joint so if you're just jogging around you don't notice it much, it's when you try to sprint or turn sharply, or otherwise twist your knee that it becomes apparent.
Exactly what happened when I did mine and I've done it twice. Hideous pain and then you think you're okay until you try to turn etc.

We can't rely on a raw kid so let's rely on players who's respective clubs relied upon when they were raw kids.

Fuck sake.

Yes because they're the players who've proved themselves good enough, and are not raw kids now. The kids who don't end up good enough wouldn't be worth buying, obviously. Let someone else get shitty results while kids prove themselves, I'd rather have the finished article and win games.

Not sure if anyone is interested, but I made a video for my YouTube channel of seven ways we could replace him in the coming months...

Many people on here thought that's what we signed him for.

Having watched him for 20 odd games playing for Pep now, I don't think he was bought for his passing. Stones passing is decent but it's not Boateng or Bonucci good - those long raking balls pinged out to the wing. Don't think I've ever seen Stones really hit a great ball like that, or those long ground passes that cut out the entire midfield.

I didn't like the new Perinau book particularly but I think the quotes from Pep and his team are brilliant and There's a quote in it from Domenec Torrent that talks about how Pep values midfielders in defence because if one of your defenders can beat a man and carry the ball out "with force" then it can provide huge impetus to the entire team to go forwards quickly and break down a defence.

That is the one thing I think Stones really is a class above in. He beats the first defender and then strides into midfield so often and so easily even compared to those world class defenders Pep has had before and I can only think that's the one thing that Caught Peps eye compared to other players we could have bought with that money.

Feel for Gundogan started to show some glimpses of what he has and was coming into his own. The guy will come back stronger hopefully not out for long.

As for a replacement in a holding role if we are looking for a a replacement dont forget in the long term Fernandhino needs to be replaced so I wouldnt be shocked to see us going German for a player maybe Christoph Kramer or Juluan Weigl might be players Pep may look to.

Getting Isco wont happen this window Madrid wont sell him cheap and we will be ripped off for him.

As for whats at the club Garcia aint going to be trusted for me with the run of games we got coming up over the next few weeks it will be 2 between Yaya , Fernando and Fernandhino in there until Delph is fit being honest can see us being more harder to break down with the 2 Ferns in there and I wouldnt be shocked to see those in there for the bigger games with Yaya playing at home games. This is Yayas chance to shine ideally he will be the best option to go with passing wise he can be vital while Gundogan is out. His chance to prove to Pep his worth to the squad long term.

My midfield for Arsenal.
Sterling , Fernando , Yaya , Silva , KDB

He's no Beckenbauer but he's decent for a centre back.

I was meaning that many on here thought that Stones may be brought in as a midfield player.

I don't know if he is good enough on the ball for that job, but I wouldn't object to seeing it tried out. In fact, unlike many, I have no objection to Pep experimenting like fuck this season. I think we have wasted a great squad by not knowing our player's full capabilites, good & bad.

We have definitely wasted this squad. just look at Yaya, thinner fitter and more hardworking than he's been for years. If he hadn't been allowed to get fat and lazy, we could have seen another season similar to 13/14 and with it another title.

Imagine what Pep would have gotten out of Dzeko with the same extra dedication and KDB putting in crosses?

Whilst they may have been fouling all night, it wasn't that (in the context of direct impact) that caused the injury, it was how he landed. A bit like Kompany at Palace he planted his right foot whilst twisting slightly and his weight went down through the knee bending it inside to out. The slight twist raises the possibility of cruciates rather than medials unfortunately, but fingers crossed the scan shows otherwise.

Think you'll find, he wouldn't have had to land anywhere if the opposition player hadn't followed right through on him.

Will have to find a replacement as he will miss a calendar year with an ACL.

Unfortunately Delph isn't the answer on a number of fronts,
