Burnley - Post match thread

He's been that poor recently that You've warped a solid decent display into something spectacular.

I'd argue the opposite - because he's been so poor and people are so entrenched in their views that they refuse to acknowledge his performance today.

Burnley are doing a decent job in the league this season, let's not start to sound like Utd fans.

Team of fucking cloggers, ably assisted by a bent ref today.

They are shit, end of apart from kicking players.

When was that pal, had 606 on the way home for the United game and Savage couldn't hide his dislike for Pep.

I remember Savage being in the studio for one of our CL games and he made a comment on players not being able to cope with the pressure or playing at the highest level. McManaman just looked at him as if to say "how the fuck would you know about that you c***?".

I've got no time for John Terry but he was spot on with his assessment of Savage.

Here's my thoughts:

Brilliant teamwork and spirit displayed in the second half. Brendan Rogers must be changing trousers as we speak.
Aguero was a massive influence on the game and we wouldn't have won it without him.
Feel bad for Kelechi, who never seems to do well when he starts.
Clichy's goal was the real turning point, and it was a very impressive finish too.
Otamendi good again but outshone by Kolarov who, at CB, is top class more often than not. Immense today.
We needed one of Sané or Nolito really.
Pep deserves huge credit for taking a calculated risk and figuring out how to win from 0-0 and a man down at 30 minutes. Most managers would shit themselves and look for a point.
Mason was awful at the little things today.
Fernandinho let himself down and is a very lucky man. No walking straight back in next time, give Fernando the spot he earned against Arsenal and make Dinho fight his way back in. We've shown we can do it without Fernandinho after all these last few weeks.
Bravo redeemed himself for now at the end but I'm finding it very hard to keep defending him.
Kolarov immense?
Do me a favour!

You're talking about possibly the best forward ever to play for City who's done the business week in week out, and comparing him to a kid who's achieved bugger all

Absolutely.

The kid who has done bugger all, is making similar mistakes to those sonetimes made by one of the best players we'vd ever had.

Perhaps Aguero has a bunch of whining wankers on his case when he was a kid & had a few iffy games too.

, we beat the mighty burnley and a corrupt ref. ffs we are supposed to be a top side, we phewing over a 2nd rate side like burnley, what has happened to our club, we should be smashing teams like this out the park, 10 or 11 men, it should be 3points move onto next, sounds like the old days on here scraping past teams. rant over. Get fucking in. 3 points will do nicely
welsh rag.

They were once kids.

Were they playing at the top of the Prem, scoring goals at the rate Kelechi is doing ?

There was once a time when City fans used to get behind young players & allow for their mistakes & bad performances, moreso than they would the experienced ones.

Now it's the opposite. Kids get less leeway to make mistakes than the older ones.[/QUOTE

Yep I'm aware Sergio and KDB we in

You said he would have done better than Sergio and KDB when you have no way of knowing.

He's still a good prospect but he deserved to be subbed today.

Haven't read all the previous pages but good to see some positive praise on here for a change. 10 men, brilliant spirit and great result. Some so call City fans on social media/radio need to catch themselves on. Well done City, super

When it comes down to it, we were down to 10 men for 2/3 of the game, have had defence issues for most of the season, a supposedly suspect keeper, yet still won.

Yes, he's doing a decent job but that sort of football will be left behind in the near future. Wasn't intending on sounding arrogant, just pointing out that we should feel privileged to have an innovator in charge who strives to play the most attractive football possible.

I'd argue the opposite - because he's been so poor and people are so entrenched in their views that they refuse to acknowledge his performance today.

you've been critical of him recently because he's been so poor (your words) and have now come on and praised him. So that's a contradiction of your above point.

It is getting really ridiculous , everyone is queuing up to have a dig at our football club and i mean everyone from all aspects , now Pep has made a stand and dismissed some of these parasites that imitate journalists the club should back him 100% and start banning some of the media , if they want a war lets have one. No matter how nice we treat the media they are never going to accept us , so what have we got to lose.

Sky are now going with a story about how Pep tried to rouse the fans as he walked to the dug out for the 2nd half but he only got a muted response and took his seat looking furious

So now it's the city fans they're trying to have a go at

Good performance today no games are easy in this league and down to ten men for 70 minutes got to be happy with 3 points.

No it isn't - I criticised him when he played poorly. Today he didn't play poorly.
It's a bit strange to want to criticise someone for a performance they put in today based on previous performances.
As I say I think some people are so entrenched in their views of Kolarov they find it hard to praise him even when it's thoroughly justified.

I think managers who play hoofball deserve all the shit they get.

3 teams come up each season. It's not as if Burnley are somehow unique & fighting against an impossible tide.

We used to be shite & we said so. Well they are shite now

It took the sending off to get us going today, Kolarov had a great game today, please don't play him left back again.
