Is it time to panic yet?

I want Pep gone now, and if he goes then I think Txiki and Soriano need to go too. Their aim since they joined was to get Pep in, and Txiki has proved that he isn't capable of building a squad and I would bet anything that they don't have a plan b - for him it's Pep or no one. Txiki and Pep are both frauds. They had Messi in their team for fuck sake, with Puyol, mascherano, fighters and great footballers in their squad, but they had Messi, we don't.

They are fucking things up on a massive scale and they're not going to pull us out of this. Pep's mind is already on a beach enjoying his early retirement, and he knows he's not fixing this.

I heard that Pep doesn't stop thinking about tactics and how to improve - I'd do that too if I landed in a job that I hadn't earned, won everything with the best team in the world behind me, and then realised that one day I might actually have to prove my metal somewhere else. I'd be shit scared of getting found out.

Well, he's been found out.

A bit OTT don't you think?
I reckon if Pep had managed to land Bonucci at the beginning of the season, things would be different.
Where he has failed, is not bringing in any fullbacks to replace the dinosaurs we have at our disposal.

Same here thought we'd get 4th.

Agreed, could never understand how some regular posters thought Pep could just turn up and take us to a title in his first season. We just haven't got the squad to do that.

It may take next summer (and possibly even the summer after that) to get in the player's and right squad balance and depth, to seriously challenge on all fronts again.

Just need to get some quality over the next few windows maybe easier said than done and we will be back in the hunt.

We cannot keep getting it wrong in the transfer market even as incompetent that those responsible for the last 5 years have been.

Little hope of top four this season because the side just isn't good enough in too many positions.

Look at the defensive signings for the last 5 years I'm not full of hope, if we spend a load more money over the next couple of years and end up where we were it has been a failure pure and simple. This is hard to say but from the top all the way through to the supporters we don't deserve to succeed.

3 points from second place position, no need to panic just yet, but we do need to make some signings/promote some youth team players to freshen up this aging squad. Time for Pep to get ruthless and not toothless. Need some steel and leaders in the team. Was asked by the lads behind us in the Family stand about my thoughts for the season, and replied let's wait and see, not expecting miracles this season, was immediately called a rag by a passed, he's called down now. We are still in a great position to finish top 4 and I would be happy with that.

I'm getting that feeling too..it's pretty weird..looking at him today he seemed totally spaced out..I'm suffering Cityitus again.

The mentality of the team when we are behind is disgraceful. We haven't won an away league game when we have been losing at half time since 1995. Simply put the team is mentally weak.

I'm pissed off by the game today too, but what a load of overreactions going on in here.

I want Pep gone now,

What do you mean, "now"? You said the exact same things in the post-match thread for the Liverpool game and Spurs game. In fact, a quick browse through your post history shows you haven't really done it other than to criticize Pep, suggest he's a fraud, wish that he would leave after half a season at the helm.

Er...

Form all over the place, only consistent thing is our shocking defending, and now we're in 5th and just two points above the rags.

Wasn't that long ago our lead above them was double digits.

Really didn't see the season sinking into the doldrums like this. Not time to panic just yet, but I'm beginning to twitch.

Just holding out hope that Gabriel Jesus has a big initial impact, we need that confidence boost as a side.

i would sound prick but given the shambolic state of the team. the hype surrounding guardiola and some players.

it would better to not to get the top 4. there is a need for a reality check the tactics and some players are simply overrated.

you would say this was the year we will be top with a distance but no. since the game agaunsh celtic and changes made something went wrong

some fans need a reality check to come down from their bubble the same could be said about the club (players and management)

During Mancini era in 4 years except thelast one. every time we watched the game and were behind we always fightback and many times scored at the end i would not forget the cup game against united 3-0 down with 10 players and we managed to score 2 inthe second half and were close to equalise !!! would you imagine a game like that right now !!! we never lost by hight margin score until the genius Guardiola :) came here

for me there is no panick i washed my hand im not mad anymore since every time quiet same old story

the best thing would being completly out of top4 (forget it) try to advance in CL ( unless we crash out against Monaco) and go for the Fa cup

Next summer the should be a clear out. all the teams in PL are aware and prepared to face city, in this case we need players with talents and guts not passengers otherwise trashing scores like today will happen again and again

He just looks fed up and fucked off.
I just think he's probably thinking that he can't implement his style in this league with our Dad's Army.

Now that's an idea. Private Godfrey in goal, Corporal Jones up front and Captain Mainwaring orchestrating from the technical area. Where would Pike fit, and what happens if Pike gets booked - Don't tell the Alty Fan yer name, Pike!

if i can add. not winning rhe PL title is notmal it happen thats football and comoetition but to concede it since Decembre withall the resources and hype arroynd that is fucking disaster and joke

5th best in goals scored and 8th best in goals conceded. Not time to panic yet as we're only three points off second (albeit with a far inferiror GD), however those stats do point to a team that will find it difficult to achieve top 4.

Er...

Sorry should have said away games

Typical City, we get supposedly the best coach in the world and he ends up looking like a lower league coach.
I think personally his ego won't handle the failure very well and i think he'll walk away.
Hopefully things will come good but i just dont think he'll stick around.

Shut up,go support someone else

I thought the whole point of a forum was for people to express their personal views. Your comment for someone to "shut up.." just because you don't agree with them is pathetic.

As for panicking now, we have to stick with Guardiola for at least his three year contract and to not do so would be crazy. But don't forget criticism can be constructive....pretending everything is okay is much more dangerous. The reality is that people criticised both Mancini and Pelligrini, but so far under Guardiola, NOTHING has improved. Our league position so far is worse than last season's finish; our points total is inferior too. We have an inferior goalkeeper and key players....Aguero, Silva, Toure etc are consistently underperforming. Our possession tactics again cost us goals today.....there is not yet one shred of evidence of improvement on last season. I think things will get sorted and improve, but the question is when? We can only pass judgement on what we have seen so far.

I keep hearing this season is now just a transitional season!
I also heard last season was a transitional one was as well!
Well neither are that! Transitional is when your going through a change. We are not yet going through a significant change!
This season is just plain shit, much like last season! The transition will only start when a proper over haul has taken place!

Good catch
