  I'm confident Teresa will set him right on Friday on issues such as climate change, the importance of NATO,free trade and the dangers of protectionism, the risks of US foreign policy on Russia and Iran whilst robustly defending the position of the UK in future trade talks (in two years time - don't yawn Don) that we will not agree to unacceptable US conditions.

  Nice one. Do I get the impression that the Trumpexiters think abandoning the TPP is a good idea and that the UK will get a trade deal (for what, importing US gas-guzzling motors made in America rather than Mexico?) that doesn't give US companies the same control over UK services that TTIP would give? I still harbour vague hopes that May comes away from the US thinking we really are in the shit if we rely on Trump's deals than the established EU set-up. However, I think the special relationship will be the Steve Bell version:

You know what 30 years ago if I had thought I'd own my own house worth £150k +++ like Del Boy I'd have thought I'd be a millionaire by now. I am not I am an overworked low paid drone lucky enough to be able - via an inheritance - to clear the mortgage. However I am still not a millionaire nor am I likely to be. I fear with what is to come around the world that you and my kids will be even worse off than me yet still paying £5 for a bag of carrots pulled by British seasonal workers and missing out on an awful lot of what I enjoy now simply because it will be unaffordable for you all.

You have to be a serious kind of stupid to win an election and then claim that the election was rigged. Or more to the point, seriously insecure about the fact you lost the (completely irrelevant) popular vote by a large margin. His people behind the scenes must be absolutely tearing there hair out trying to explain to him that if he proves the election wasn't reliable then he is the one who loses out
