He’d be fine, we change our system pretty much every year.
We boss possession in 90% of games. Look at Walker’s average position. Even if he’s a wingback at Leverkusen, he’d essentially be that far up the pitch anyway.
We’re most vulnerable on the counter. Even if he’s not the best defender...
Walker giving praise in the press to Frimpong, the Leverkusen RB/wingback. Rumoured to have a release clause around £35mil. Would help us massively offensively, could probably play RW if we have injuries, give Walker a bit of competition and give him a break. Might even help with homegrown too.
Apparently Frimpong has a £35mil release clause too. Absolutely rapid and scoring/assisting for fun at Leverkusen. Maybe not a top level defender but I think the amount of possession we have combined with his pace would be enough for most games.
That’d be RB & RW sorted for £70mil.
Would be brilliant to get both but I think Wirtz would have a more obvious path into the team; he’s an incredible creator and would be an obvious heir to De Bruyne.
Been impressed with Xavi Simon’s this season, a lot quicker and stronger than I thought he’d be.
Wirtz is the one though. Obviously Munich will have the bigger pull, but he could be Kev’s successor here. He’s been smashing it for the past 4 years and he’s only 20. Recovered better from a...
Very injury prone and going through a purple patch. Had 2 awful seasons and not very prolific.
We still need a Rodri backup, a RB and a midfielder that can score - not sure he’s what we need for what he’ll cost.
With his pace he just needs to disrupt the attacker until we can get bodies back, doesn’t need to be a huge defensive threat; Walker’s defensive numbers aren’t actually that great but you’d still say he’s a top RB, it’s just how our system works.
We have so much possession his strengths more...
