the problem is, pep doesn't utilize the position and (positioning as a team) he is best at. He's a class talent so Pep can certainly get alot out of him but not his absolute peak.
I said it before the season. He's not really a fit in pep's side. His style of football is one far better suited where he can receive the ball and quickly orchestrate an attack. When in a possession heavy side he has to play up top as a true CAM or CF with freedom to get out wide where he can...
The thing people have to remember is that his fitness issues come even as a pure rotational player. He hasn't spent much time on the pitch over the last 5 years and he's still never fit.
about half as reliable from a fitness standpoint as Gundogan. Coming from a Bayern supporter though, it'd be a smart move to try and squeeze 6 months out of him but realistically I just don't see him staying fit for any period of time.
will most likely be the toughest player to pry from BVB's current crop of players. Young and very hard to come by a CDM with the composure and vision on the ball he has not to mention BVB are looking to extend him. Wouldn't be surprised if hes given an outrageous release clause of 60M+.
What about what I said is having a go at Pep? The fact that every single player's strengths don't fit into his system? He has 80M in two of the transfers he's made that haven't seen the pitch yet. They both play positions that KDB can play in and they both provide the type of play that Pep wants...
Again wouldn't be surprised to see him get Gotzed under pep. Supremely talented player but he's not the type of player that will thrive in Peps possession heavy, space devoid style. He's a counter attacking number 10 adept at playing in transition, anticipation and long balls.
Said it before training began, don't see how Pep gets the most out of KDB. His playing style is sort of at odds with the system Pep has coached at Bayern and Barca. No real 10 role and a lot of possession and pressing high up the pitch. KDB is at his best playing as a 10 with freedom and playing...
Its not that he asks the team to go long, if you give Boateng or Hummels for that matter, time on the the ball they can pick out those types of passes. Not many CB's in the world can do that. Stones might be one of them.
He said he wants to stay at Dortmund for a long time, He and Reus are very good friends. Don't see him leaving unless Madrid come calling with a fee of 90m+
