There's potential trouble - Woodward seems to excell at marketing, but insofar as he controls signings, United have failed to sign the players they need.

If there's friction between Morinho and Woodward about signings, Morinho will no doubt lash out. At which point the board will likely be forced to let him go. Probably won't happen next year, but the melt down is likely coming.

OK great. Then I say he'll last the season, because Ed won't want to look stupid nor has any idea who can replace him. During the week after the season closes they will announce he is leaving by mutual consent.

I am assuming the worst case. If Woodward gets the megabucks signings that Mourinho wants then they'll progress. And why wouldn't they? They really only have to compete with Chelsea and a handful of European giants. We'll only need to battle with them for 1 or 2.
