Over-used word, but so apt for this fantastic singer - a true legend - part of my youth - as Jazzman says - we are getting old. RIP Aretha.
Agreed. Sadly being a “star” these days is solely based on how many times you’ve been photographed, by ok magazine, stumbling stoned out of some dive or other at 4 in the morning, rather than whether you can actually sing or notThat's because they aren't in the same league Karen, Aretha was the best of them all imo, fantastic voice and what a stage presence.
RIP Aretha.
I think Amy would have been the one that lasted and most of those who have died young like prince and MJ,all broke new ground in their own wayThat's because they aren't in the same league Karen, Aretha was the best of them all imo, fantastic voice and what a stage presence.
RIP Aretha.
RIP Aretha, voice of an angel.
That too :) always a bit bittersweet when someone like this passes away, sorry they're gone but so grateful for the music they've left behind.I know what you mean, but I'd say she had the voice of the devil, and it was bloody marvellous.
