There actually isn’t Liverpool and Merseyside on the whole is the most Irish area of the country. The poll I have seen from 2004 admittedly showing the percentage of catholic population by diocese has Merseyside at 46% , the next most populous are Glasgow and Motherwell with around 28%our local one is Salford which has 13%of the total population.
