3 years of Pep and I wouldn't really expect Vinny and Otamendi to be still challenging to be our strongest pairing,nor would I expect us still to be weak in both full back positions,not found a successor for Yaya and Fern in CM .
 
Playing for City I believe Laporte and Stones are our best partnership and compliment the way we play best:

Laporte
Stones
Vinnie
Ota
 
Kompany is still #1, he’s just not the athlete he needs to be to play regularly enough.

But our best partnership is Stones and Laporte for me. I think we are at our best when they play together.
 
Is anyone else concerned about the amount of games Stones is starting? He seems to be at the bottom of the pecking order right now.

It's odd because at the start of the season it looked as though Pep had decided on Stones and Laporte as his first choice partnership.

Is he having doubts or is it just a case of rotation?

Maybe next season we'll see those two consistently starting together especially if Otamendi were to leave.
 
Love to see a settled back four for City. I can understand rotating in other areas where fresh energy is more important.
In terms of centre back,s my first choices would be Laporte and Stones
 
Only one i feel very confident of organising and leading the defence is Kompany

If Waker can play CB it might be him in a couple of years
 
That tackle by Kompany when spurs were clean through last night though, wow.

Until last night I would have said Laporte, stones, Kompany, Otamendi... but Laporte made two bad bad mistakes, and Kompany played well so god knows
