Ref blocking the channels!

How many times have we seen this in the past few months, getting a bit obvious now.

Oliver was doing that Saturday.

They all do it in every game being played, it's there standard position and nothing to do with us, yes it's frustrating as fuck at times but with the linesman being on the other side the ref will always be in the position to the left of the attacking team.

Liverpool have been very good this year BUT they have benefitted massively from goalkeeping errors, refereeing errors and amazing good fortune with regards to their key players avoiding injuries.
Their 4 most important players - Salah has played in 47 out of 47 games (100%), Firmino 46/47 (98%), VVD has played in 44/47 (94%) & Mane 44/47 (94%).
Compared to ours - Sterling 46/56 (82%), Sergio 42/56 (75%), Fernandinho 41/56 (73%), & KDB 30/56 (53%).

So their have had their key players available for 96% of the time & we have had ours for 71%. We have also played 20% more games.

Not seen the press making a big issue of this!!

Much of this, aside from KDB, is down to Pep rotating rather than injuries but it's startling all the same.

Cuneyt Cakir did it a couple of times on Wednesday but realised he was in the way of the pattern of play and changed up his position

This is right - they're trained to ref at an angle to play.

Yep, the opposite diagonal to the two linos! I think they should be hoisted about twenty feet over the ground like they do with that camera. Tierney might be ok but they'd need one helluva hawser for Jonny Moss. Would't want him flying over just as Raheem or Sergio is about to thump one in. Jeez, if that cable snapped . . . . . . . !
