Any experience with going away on your wife's birthday??

Woah don't go there, that is sooooooooo expensive, read what she put, 'a gift and flowers on top of her main present' !! so unless Kaz means a packet of M&M's and some petrol station flowers on top of a new bread board she is way too expensive.
Shut it you,i nearly had him hooked

Nothing to do with the thread title but.....
Mrs Mist went into Manchester on a Friday afternoon, she slipped and fell. Next morning she complained her knee was hurting. We kicked off at 3pm so I whisked her to the A&E at 8am, by 11 they diagnosed she had broken it and put her in a plaster cast from her ankle to her bum and gave her 2 crutches. I settled her on the settee with the tv remote and by 12.30pm I was in the pub. To be fair to me I didn't go to the pub after the match.

That said we played Barcelona on the Wednesday and I had booked flights and a hotel Tuesday through 'til Thursday - I went and as she seemed fine on the settee, the following Sunday I went to the League Cup Final. FFS man up OP.

Im going regardless.

Potential dilemma for our game away at atalanta. It's fell on my wife's birthday and she may not be able to go due to work commitments. (we find out next Wednesday).

However, she knows I'd love to se city play in the San Siro and being the brilliant wife she is, she's already said that I'm able to go if she cannot get the time off work and we can celebrate her birthday on the weekend. (we usually do that anyway).

However this could this be a case of her just saying that and if I actually go, she'd be really pissed off with me. Isn't that a common trait of a woman?

I don't want to hurt her feelings for obvious reasons but I really want to go to the game too.

Surely some of you have been in similar situations? Did you go off to do what it was you wanted to do regardless or did you stay put as not to hurt her feelings? How did it work out?

I'm hoping her workplace just allow her the time off but it's unlikely as we're in Berlin at a gig the week later and she's off work for that.

San Siro? It's Atalanta, not Inter. Bergamo.
