It was another failed attempt at humour.I take that for a rhetorical flourish rather than a question.

It is also wrong. It should have read; 'That St.Paul, what's he like? eh! he'd say mass.' as the Collossian quote you made was actually from a letter from St.Paul to them.
You knew all that of course.
But my original Colossians quip was to keep all those lesser mortals in here in on the joke. Bringing up Paul out of the blue might go over their heads.
There's the why.
Didn't work obviously.
Oh that’s an awkward question so they get around it by saying he’s been an ever present and needed no beginning. Makes sense eh?
Yes..If nothing existed, it would still run to 500 pages on this forum!
Some theorise that. No one but religion claims to know for sure. Many scientists believed that about the universe and some believe that still to be the case - https://phys.org/news/2015-02-big-quantum-equation-universe.html
Makes sense eh?
Yes..
but why?

ps your link doesn’t work
IMO the concept of an eternal something without a beginning or an end is either acceptable or unacceptable. One can't claim that science can allow for it but religion can't.
