Burnley (A) Post Match Thread

Most people were too frustrated after the Newcstle game and failed to notice that we managed to significantly improve over the course of the game and finished quite strongly.

In other words, something in our game clicked already in the final 20 minutes against Newcastle.

Burnley’s tactics were very strange. They were wide open within the first 10 mins. I think our quick passing, movement and defending from the front though was just way too much for them.

They seemed to get drawn into our press and it by passed half their team. They should take a lesson from Newcastle how to starve City of space and leave us side ways passing at slow pace. We actually dominated in midfield for the first time in a month, Silva was fantastic in the pockets and they couldn’t handle De Bruyne drifting out onto the wing to double up with Bernardo. Rodri needs to keep that form going.

that was a very good performance and Jesus looked the player he needs to become regularly. Also, if Rodri maintains that level of performance, the team need to take inspiration and we can go on a really good run.

otherwise most were ok, Sterling is still off the boil somehow, Walker is a bit erratic with the ball and Ederson managed to pick out a Burnley player in his own box but everyone put in a shift. Nick Pope is a pretty decent keeper.

Wow so cynical ;-)
A power cut which only affects the away dressing room? Nothing suspicious about that at all.....
Seriously it is a pathetic attempt at mind games and I’m surprised more hasn’t been made of it.

Its us, thats why nothing has been made of it. If they did that to the Dippers it would be on the back pages, enquiries would be held and National Power companies called to Parliament to explain themselves.
But it will be glossed over and soon Dyche will be back on TV whinging about cheating and players going down easily despite his team/club being up there with the worst offenders

Very encouraging with Gabby and Rodri stepping up big time. It was very noticeable that we flowed much better than of late with the transition from defence to attack much quicker. It seems a bit unfair to lay that at Gundogan’s door but his absence did seem to be the catalyst. A shout out to KDB whose runs were Yaya like at times.

Apart from the slight blemish at the end it was a great performance. Completely controlled the game.

They were saying it happened to the dippers at a night game there.

Wasn't looking forward to this one given the recent abject performances. Such a transformation since Saturday. It was evident that the work-rate was up in trying to close space & recover the ball. Let's hope it continues.

You’re a bundle of laughs tonight. ? Don’t go overboard will you?
Tonight was fantastic mate and it was great to see our swagger and hunger back. We’re unstoppable when we’re in this mood.

Never go overboard either way unless it's a day we pick a trophy up

That's part of the problem on here, one extreme to another.

Just enjoy it, I do
