Clubs furloughing staff

It is odd how FFP is set up to allow clubs to sail so close to the wind. I would have thought FFP would have enabled clubs to cope with this better. On the plus side they cant say we use state money , as they are clearly using state money to stay a float !

What are other European countries doing ? Have they go scheme's to help out football clubs ?

Fund a club out of our own money (allegedly) and still demonstrate said club is self sustaining = multi million euro fine and two year ban from European competitions based on a hacked email.

Claim you're self sufficient yet still get the tax payer to pay part of your non playing staffs wages = that's all fine apparently

Invest in a rival with Middle East money = dirty, terrorist linked Arab oil money, don't bother to check where it came from, just assume the worst and stop it from happening!

Accept investment from a group fined over £1billion for being found guilty in a court of law of money laundering linked to Russia and illegal weapons purchases = all fine and dandy too

Hopefully some of the football public will start to wake up now and see the league for what it is, a proper Old Boys club.

Post of the lockdown.

I understand the PFA's stance regarding loss of tax to HMRC but then would also be amazed if players are on PAYE like the bloke in the street.

Spot on. This should be copied and pasted all over rawk.

If Burnley are going to run out of money by August then haven't they failed ffp?

Points deduction and relegation surely? A team in the premier league shouldn't be running out of money by August. This coronavirus has brought out a few secrets and lies in football and surprise surprise it's the gobby clubs showing the strain.

Let's hear the dingles moan about our owners and OUR money now.

This is turning into real life monopoly, some clubs will need to get rid of hotels and houses from Mayfair and Park Lane soon.
