Red Cafe in meltdown

I’d say it was even more under appreciated how the financial might of said club & the fact they could poach players from pretty much any club in the UK they wanted was paramount to their success.

Never used to get mentioned how any of Ferguson’s teams cost more than insert team here during commentary.

Funny that. Wonder why?
Ferdinando cost them more than you would have to pay for a slightly above average CB now. And that was decades ago.

Yes, quite puzzling . . .

Just thinking that this morning...Robson, Keane, Sheringham, Rooney ,Vidic , Ferdinand, Stam, Carrick. Those tw%ts just hoovered up anyone of any promise at any price and the others fought over the scraps. They go on about the 92 mob as though all their players came from that route..

It was more than a decade before camelgob's record transfer fee for a defender was broken, and it was a similar time span until the record fee for a teenager, after the rags bought shrek.

A myth that the rags like to promote is that they never buy the finished article, but rather develop young talent. It’s a load of bollocks; they’ve always shelled out big money for big names.

If the plastics are in meltdown over their recent result, how the fuck would they have survived what we and a few other clubs have been through?

Our history is littered with triumphs and tragedies: relegation, promotion (AND we had Stuart Pearce in charge for a while!) but we’re all still here.
Same with the other clubs who’ve suffered like we have. Their fans - true diehards who support the club no matter what - never fail to get behind their clubs when all is not well: relegation, takeovers, crowd unrest etc.
But not the rags. No, they prefer to sulk, throw tantrums and air their grievances on social media platforms. They demand the world and his wife gather round and offer tea and sympathy, utter soothing words in their precious little ears.
In this they are no different to the dippers: constantly seeking reassurances from one another that the good times are just around the corner, that they will be top of the stack come the end of season and all will be well in plastic land again.

Both of them, rags and dippers, seem to be under the impression that they have some kind of divine right to win trophies (although with the rags I’m not sure ‘win’ is the correct word), and any other club that has even a small taste of success are just little whippersnappers getting under your feet, amateurs daring to go toe-to-toe with the big boys.

If we don’t win the Prem this season I hope it goes to someone like West Ham, Everton, or pretty much any other club who haven’t had a chance in the spotlight, if only to read the plastic rag/dipper followers venting their collective spleens on their even-more plastic forums.

The crass of 92 supplemented the most expensively assembled squad in the history of English football when they were coming through.
They were able to keep all of these players (many of whom they poached from other clubs academies) and they were able to learn from the best players around at the time.
Take West Ham for example, they had a crop of players including Ferdinand, Johnson, Lampard, Carrick, Cole and Defoe that were as good if not better than that lot.
The difference is that they weren't surrounded by the most expensively assembled squad in the country and were unable to prevent other clubs swooping in to pick off this talented group.
The Rags were able to invest huge amounts in their playing squad on a level never seen before in this country prior to the Crass of 92 coming through thanks to a huge investment of external finance resulting from their stock market flotation.
It always makes me piss when Rags bang on about "earned not bought" and "doing things the right way" when they've had numerous leg ups over the years, two of which saved them from extinction, a free stadium handed to them and handouts from the government and the Fa to spend on the swamp.
