10 | Jack Grealish - 2023/24

A real awakening? What was he supposed to do about his groin injury? Tell Southgate he was fit to play?

What a silly comment. It was quite clear from last night that neither Gordon nor Rashford have that left wing position locked down.

If Grealish plays as he has done so far this season, he’s not going to the euros.

Foden and Saka will be the starting wingers, and there’s only space for 2 more. Palmer will be one of them given his form.

Gordon is in form, Bowen or Rashford give a 3rd striker option, which is important if Kane isn’t 100% fit. Maddison is playing better as a 10.

Jack is going to have to step it up massively to have a chance of getting on the plane. He’s fit to play today and he’s not in the squad.

No one would be happy with that 3 years after making him a club record signing.

Jacks a differing option than Saka and Foden.

He gets you up the pitch with the free kicks he wins and his ball retention is unbelievable, sort of player that England need more than City.

“Fit to play today”? Are you being serious?

Either you’re trolling or you’ve missed the fact he’s been out with a groin injury for weeks and there was no way he was fit enough 10 or so days ago to get the call up for what is a pointless set of internationals. So you’re talking absolute tripe as far as England goes right now.

When he has played this season he’s played well - he was in good form in December prior to the burglary he was subjected to and never got a chance after that to get going with illness and injury.

How you even think Rashford is a consideration is beyond me. His attitude is dogshit and he was poor last night when he came on.

Eh?? Seriously

I know it was only his senior England debut but Gordon was dreadful against Brazil. Danilo had him in his pocket and he didn't do anything to mitigate the control he had over that space. If Southgate wants to pick a one dimensional pound shop Rashford Gordon's his man.

He's effective for Newcastle because they play on the break and there's lots of runners in that team. That isn't the case with England, teams sit in and the pace of the game and turnover of the ball at international football isn't as fast as the PL.

Grealish should be in the squad on merit. The alternatives, Bowen and Gordon just don't have anywhere near the same quality let alone the ball retention ability that England need when under pressure.

Stop drinking right now.

I think this International break will have been a real awakening for him.

Never in a million years would he or the club think that a couple of seasons into his City career he'd be left an outsider to get in the England squad this summer.
Who said he’s an outsider!? He’s injured at the moment & thus couldn’t be selected. Looking at the team’s performance against Brazil - he’s one of the first 11 based on the players selected for that game & their performance

Where’ve you been? He’s recovering from a groin injury - so not available thus he’s not in the squad!!
