This is such a disingenuous dismissal that's been used constantly in this transfer saga. There are well known deficiencies in his game even without the much discussed ability with his feet. Yes, he is one of the best in the world. But he's not the clear candidate for that title by any means.
Also, I'm not the poster you're responding to, but no, I don't always want the best player in the world. I want the best player for City and I'm not sure he is that. Also, I'm the sort of fan who would always prefer a local player given a run, and failing that, an academy product. Yeah there's a higher degree of patience needed with academy players, but its more exciting to me when we have those players in the side.
I know these days instant gratification and shiney new toys and fifa ratings are trendy.
