Referees' Performances | 2025/26

Alty's dog currently cowering in the wardrobe, and it's not because of the fireworks.

He knows what's coming, when the bald twat gets home
Yes that long drive back home to north London where he lives. Funny how a London based ref is selected to travel up to the northwest for a standard premiership match.
Oh wait,he made the same journey last weekend to when utd were at home .
All very strange.
Can't stand him.

Both would have have been checked by VAR.
I thought Alty was awful but a blue mate watching on tele reckoned he got most calls correct.
Well, if VAR can come to the conclusion that a player was fouling the goalkeeper, but stopped fouling him before the goal was scored, so it's okay, then you might as well pack up and go home!

This is what I don't get. He was being fouled but his arm was released just before the ball came in. Surely, a foul is a foul?
I looked on the opta stats on 60 minutes and we'd only been awarded 4 free kicks at that point. 1 of those was for offside goal in the 1st minute. You cannot tell me Bournemouth only committed 1 foul every 20 minutes!!!

I’d like to ask the refs here what constitutes an advantage these days. In what situation do you play on?

As I understand it, it has to be better for the team fouled to play on than to have the free kick. Is this still the case?

I see a lot of occasions when I would rather have the free kick but the refs just play on because we have still got the ball.

(Except of course that abominable decision to pull Grealish up when clean through and give us a free kick.)
When I was still in the system we were constantly told that having possession of the ball didn't necessarily mean the team has an advantage. You should also never play an advantage from an offence which would result in any sort of card. This all goes by the wayside by the PL refs

More VAR's fault imo, but that is still annoying. Two of them grabbing at him

From the moment he didn’t give a couple of blatant fouls on us I knew it might be a long day. How long is it since Pep said we won everything on our own with no help. Shambolic performance yet again from Wythenshawe born Taylor. He should be anywhere near our games nor the rags.

The handball and the arm link, would they be given for someone else?

Guarantee if that happens next week to the Liverpool goalie the referee or the bloke in var would say it was a foul! He will say the player interlocked the goalies arm stopping him jumping properly! For me it’s was 100% a foul! Pep is right when he says referees are so so brave at the Etihad so brave! In other words pep saying at an Anfield at the rags or at Arsenal that would be blown for a foul every day of the week!

Yeah, good sarcasm from Pep.

Bournesmouth goal def gets ruled out for a cartel club
Didn't we have a Laporte goal ruled out for breathing on Allisson a couple of seasons back.

Question: What's the difference between Taylors performance today and the contents I last flushed out of the downstairs toilet at Ewing Towers.

Answer: Yeah, ok, it's an easy one. The downstairs toilet has ne'er been provided with a whistle.
