Joey Barton found guilty of sending offensive posts

He's fucking nuts. Typical scouse scally. I remember him being interviewed by Gabby Logan years ago and saying he believed he was put on the earth for a bigger purpose than being a footballer. No idea what lol.

He's found his calling

He's a complete and utter twat but calling Vine a "bike nonce" and comparing Eluko and Ward to Fred and Rose West should never be considered a crime and warrant a trial.

Could you imagine if all this was going on when we were at school in the sixties/seventies?? Most of us would have been locked up in care or secure accomodation. Also the majority of the strap/cane happy sadistic teachers would have been in prison.

Most of my teachers ended up in prison, as did my football coach.

And I am not joking

Barton is a **** but suggesting he can't wear a British flag tie should be an indicator the judge should have his hard drive looked at :)

The point the judge made was that Barton was making statements during the trial of trying to turn this into him being persecuted for being English, not left wing and patriotic.

It's bullshit and the judge wasn't having any of it.

The jury disagreed.
Almost certainly because it was Joey Barton, a well known grade A wanker. "Bike nonce" is about as offensive as shouting bus wanker. Anybody with a semi-functioning brain can tell he isn't actually suggesting he's a paedophile as was claimed. How many times do you think we'll hear somebody flippantly call somebody a nonce at the match on Sunday? Should they all be arrested too?

Publicly speaking your views on others will get you locked up, if you think calling somebody a bike nonce for fun will get laughs and be brushed off, then sorry Joey, you're wrong again.

Joey Barton thinks he is a voice of the people and thinks he's right about everything ? wrong again Joey

But the subsequent posts and messages that Barton sent did suggest that he was calling him a paedophile and the jury agreed with that.

The trial didn't just rest on the bike nonce post.

From the BBC:

"He was also convicted over posts suggesting Vine had visited "Epstein island" - a reference to the paedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein - and one saying: "If you see this fella by a primary school call 999."

Taken in isolation, they wouldn't warrant anything but altogether he was found guilty for grossly offensive messages.

He was cleared of 6 other charges so it wasn't as if every offensive thing he said led to a conviction.

No, the judge was correct to pull him on that because he is insulting the flag and the country. But then Barton is a scouser and we know they feel they are not English/British!
Also the things that he said about the people, especially the women, whether you like them or not, were disgraceful.
I’m sorry but social media has so much to answer for. It does need some regulation in my opinion.
There are a lot of things I could call that silly childish person but I am too polite.

No idea who this vine bloke is but I did see a photo of him on a bike and thought that's pretty much what I would expect a bike nonce to look like.
He’s a well-respected DJ on Radio Two and a TV presenter on Channel Five.

Both shows he hosts include phone-in discussions of topical news stories, and Vine plays the devil's advocate on both. A lot of people think he’s just a WUM, but that’s too simplistic. He does what good political interviewers do.

And he does it very well, IMHO.
