Electric cars

going to look at Hyundai Kona tomorrow electric thumbs up or down never had one
Got a 5 year old one we've had for about 18 months. Inside is like a Dixon's own brand stereo, but otherwise great car. Averaged 4.2 miles/KW over that time with probably 30% on the motorway. Will do min 180 miles on the motorway in the worst conditions and more like 300 around town in summer. Things like the adaptive cruise control work brilliantly which make it a relaxing drive on the motorway and, along with the heated steering wheel, is something I've never had and now am not sure I could do without.

The new one makes ours look attractive, but Hyundai/Kia have nailed the motor and batteries and the modern ones have better screen software than ours, although all handle Android Auto / Carplay, so not an issue if you prefer that.

Someone's going to make a fortune in the next ten years importing cheap ice runabouts from abroad, if that's possible, or allowed.
A lot of people (including me) just want a cheap to buy and run runabout.
Not arsed about touch screens or lane assist, or any of that shite, just a simple a to b motor that will last 15 years or more if looked after, at a decent price.
These cars are long gone now, and it's a shame.
New this, new that, get this, its just bollocks consumerism and people fall for it.
Without wishing to sound like a communist, where is the "peoples car" built in Britain, sold cheaply to the British people? We could do it, but we choose not to. I can't think of one reason why we couldn't do it.
Soz, but we would seemingly rather import shite than make it ourselves, when we are more than capable of doing it.
Rant over.
