4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

Worrying that from a smiling player who expressed himself on the pitch and looked super confident in early games in pre season and away at Wolves that now after our coaching set up having him for a while he looks a shadow of the player he is. Could this coaching with fear be a bigger issue at the club now - I expect Cherki to stop all his tricks and become tepid too - they seem scared to make a mistake.

So he looked good in pre season and against a team sitting on 2 points.

I also expected a lot more from him and I do think he has some ability there but when we start looking at the facts, his only real good game since the season started was against a side who might end up with the lowest points tally ever.

That's a bit worrying.

The stats guys said thay his biggest weakness is out of possession and its painfully obvious.

He gives us next to no physicality and at the moment he's offering no quality on the ball either.

Genuinely I'd be considering shifting him on this summer. Hes 27, how much better is he materially going to get?

Yep I agree - in those early matches he was the one midfielder bursting through with late runs into the box - tonight he did that once and then didn't have the confidence to find a finish. It's all hurried and he looks lost in what the coaching team want him to do.

He won’t get better. This is it for him,it’s not like we can wait 2/3 years to wait and see. He was a plug in and play signing but plug is fucked. Back to AC on loan most likely.

Unlike poor old Savinho who has the freedom of the park to make his mistakes

Kalvin Phillips would play better.

So far, all he's showing is the club have made yet another poor buy.

He was playing till 25 in the Dutch league; he was bought on the back of just 1 good season. We need to buy a proper CM, Foden, Rjeinders, and Cherki are better in the AM role

All my concerns about him, that many, many people disputed during the summer are currently very much on display. Not writing him off yet, but let's hope something clicks soon though as he isn't 21 with potentially a whole career ahead of him and time to learn, he's in his late 20's and was bought as a ready to go midfielder, that isn't what we've got.

As i said in the summer, if this lad takes 12-18 months to even start to show up, it'll already be time to replace him As he'll be reaching 30.

age doesn’t come into it on here tbf mate, if you’re not performing as a world beater at 21 you’re as destined to be as forever shite as you would be at 35
