How have you managed to see a pair of immigrants’ kids deciding to represent the countries their parents are from and gotten to “players don’t give a fuck about national loyalty”?

Semenyo’s dad was a Ghanaian professional footballer. Him growing up dreaming of playing for Ghana is completely normal and not new at all, it’s the kind of thing that’s happened for 40 years.

Olise the same - he was playing youth football for France so obviously decided when he was still a kid that out of the 4 countries he could represent, France was the one he wanted.

It’s not like he spent his entire childhood playing for Ireland and then swapped when he was good enough for England like Rice.
