26 | Savinho - 2025/26

Esp when your transported over the other side of the world from sunny Brazil to sunny Manchester and you don't know the language.
I feel a bit bad for slating him early season, that's a lesson learned..
Agreed but we need to sell to the highest bidder. He just doesn’t seem cut out for the physical and competitive Premier league.

you mean transported to france, then played a year in the netherlands and then one in spain, before coming to sunny manchester, and was enrolled in English lessons for the last 2 years and admits he is a bit shy but can speak and understand it.

Bit like when I left sunny manchester at 19 to work in france and the channel islands and 90% of the kitchen team spoke french or poruguese, and lots of them didn't speak english and had come from brittany and maderia so worked away from home all between 19 -25 yrs old, yet we all grafted for our meagre wage and seemed to perform as required.

Does anyone on here still think he will come good?

Genuine question.

And if so, on what basis. What are yous seeing that we aren't. The lad is beyond shite.

Had a third of the pitch to push the ball in to and beat the full back tonight and fouled himself.

I honestly watch local grass roots wingers who would be better than him and full backs that would stop him.
I think he will come good for the following reasons.

He has pace
He has a good first touch and good technique.
He can beat man on the inside and the outside.
He is intelligent enough to get himself into promising positions.

His negatives have been more than touched upon in this thread, so it pointless me repeating them.

I think he it is still worth persevering with.

He’s a pussy though too, and it’s very rare a pussy succeeds in the Prem.

All those positives but yet only 4 goals in 64 appearances.

Did you see him the other night one on one with that defender.
Did he beat him for pace - no
Did he beat him on the inside or outside - no
Did he get himself into a promising position - no
The one time he did, he ballooned his finish towards the opposite corner flag.

In front of 1000s of people every week who analysed your performance and booked or cheered accordingly?

Couple of issues here.
1. He is not good enough.
2. Why is pep picking him and who is training worse to get left behind? Shows recruitment problems.

He is just another transfer mistake.
Plain and simple. I'm not sure what all the consternation and debate is? No way is he good enough. Pep needs to stop putting him out there. Put him on the market for 30-35 mil and move on...

Thought he actually played quite well in the first half, then when he got switched to the right he made a few mistakes and you could see the confidence drain from him and it just got worse and worse.

Probably needs taken out of the firing line for a bit.

Bobb aswell.

Tiny and mar could well soon be following.

The likes of stones and Ake have played their part so will leave with thanks.

Most of the new players lack consistency unless it’s consistent shit performances.

Badly need at least 3 top tier players.

Those attributes are what made me think he would make it. Looked good the first half of last season, then we saw a complete lack of mental and physical strength coupled with the worst shooting I have ever seen. He's a wimp. This isnt the league for him.

For me Savinho, Bobb, Rico, Ake, Phillips, Ortega, and Bettinelli don't play in any competitive situation bar the League Cup. Kovacic, Khusonov, and Trafford play in peripheral roles. The remaining 16 should be more than enough to win a shitload of games and provide some legitimate rotation.
Donnarumma, Dias, Gvardiol, Stones, Nunes, NOR, Ait Nouri, Rodri, Nico, Bernardo, Reijnders, Foden, Cherki, Doku, Haaland, and Marmoush.
Focus specifically on an attacking wide player in January to bolster this crew with a much needed addition. Come the Summer we review and make whatever further moves are necessary...
