Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Ref was an absolute bottle job that shit himself because of the crowd.

The assault on Doku at the corner flag was well worthy of bringing back for a yellow. Rudiger could have had 5 yellows - a few for just being a prick. Love that Bellingham bottled his chance.

Commentators and pundits on TNT a disgrace. Making excuses for Real all night - "they have a full team missing".

If it wasn't for Courtois it would have been 6

Fantastic result

Only issue with last night is that it was on TNT sports

I watched it in Tenerife on some American channel ( I think) but they must have been using TNT presenters. Richards, Henry and Carragher. The female presenter was fucking hopeless. She actually said "So a win for Real Madrid then" towards the end of the coverage before having to correct herself. They absolutely hate us. Constantly highlighting any of our slight errors and giving us the faintest of praise, if any, while making every excuse as to why our opponent unfairly lost the game.

Why did Foden find it so hard yesterday? He barely got involved.
I said same, and obviously because we won there hasn’t been much made of it, but he was completely anonymous nd could have been hooked earlier. He doesn’t seem to have a middle ground at the moment, either awesome or invisible.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer club, we went into a vipers nest of cunts and pissed on their chips. The appealing for everything with Mbappe up off the bench pointing at the screen in front of the ref, the shit music they play when they score, the shit megaphones in the crowd. Jude Bellingham and his serious face pouting and that thug Ruddiga thinking he can foul people without consequences.

I honestly couldn’t give a flying what TNT or any shit pundit says, it was there for all to see and if they want to make Twunts out of themselves, crack on.

Possibly.. after the Liverpool one which he telegraphed for the dipper keeper

The best pen takers are the ones who watch the keeper until the last second and wait for him to commit.. and that’s what Haaland did last night
Or at least having different styles to their repertoire. Now a keeper won’t know if Erl is going to stutter or not so every now and then he can go full throttle and they won’t expect it either. Fernandes at the scum is the same, sometimes he does his stutter, sometimes he just steps up and whacks it.

The first 2 touches he lost the ball. He trashed an easy through ball to find Marmoush on the break who was through to get a 3rd and wrap it up. He does occasionally put in a decent cross but for me thats not enough for a place in this team.
If you’re going to list things they all gave the ball away. He came on and was positive and brave. Beat his man each time, pushed them back and very cleverly drew Rudiger in before edging past him who should have been booked. The dopy twqt in the pub next to me was slagging him off for ‘slowing down’ at that point.
You’re one of those waiting to see when he doesn’t do everything right.
He’s young, clearly has ability. Pep can see it. Give him a break and get behind him.

Hahaha

Tell you something I noticed in the first half last night (and second half at Fulham last week which was a breath of fresh air for a PL game!); we aren’t used to playing in fast paced games where both teams are going for it.

PL games are getting slower all the time. Teams just waste as much time as possible and they have a sit down and pretend to be injured. Rather than playing to attack progressively through passing and dribbling teams play for set pieces to move them up the pitch, and they take a minute to take each one of them. The ball has been in play 4 minutes a game less this season than just 2 seasons ago.

We’re not used to playing in fast paced games. It seems to come as a shock to us when it happens. It took us a good half an hour to get used to the pace of the game last night. Once we did, we played well, but the PL is doing us no favours at the moment. The PL needs speeding up.

I’d like to see how much time the ball was in play last night. There’s almost nothing at all I like about Madrid, but at least they don’t waste time.
Good point . The move to set piece chess is as time wasting as goal kicks once were . And about as entertaining as watching a table being laid for a banquet in Buckingham Palace. The referee is like the head butler making sure the fish knife isn't touching the soup spoon then spots the flower arrangement has fallen over and has to get that sorted ....last night there was none of that so no one got a rest .

Even if she went on ti give him praise, I turned it off after 30seconds when she said Nico had been labelled a panic buy and a flop…

I’ve not seen anyone anywhere say Nico was a panic buy and a flop. He got MOTM in his very first game for us, after which he started 8 of our next 9 PL games and he played well in all but the Liverpool away defeat.

I think he was one of the main reasons we settled down as a team in the second half of last season after that shit run in November and December.

He’s made the saying ‘it takes a year to settle in under Pep at City’ look like a myth.

To be fair to Alice in ragland I saw plenty of posters on here say that about Nico.

I'm with you though, think he's been good since day one. Pep leaving him out for inferior players was doing my fucking head in.

Our record vs Real:

5 wins, 5 draws, 5 losses, GD 26:25 City

Under Pep: 5 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses, GD 23:20.

We may be the only club in Europe with a positive record vs Real (at least 10 games played).

Edit: AC Milan the only other club with a positive record over 10+ games. Both United and Liverpool with a negative record. United have won just 2 from 11 games lol.

I was very happy to see Rudiger get a penalty against him for rugby tackling, something we've not really got in our favour this last year, and if you watch back the first goal from the corner, he hauls down Nico (?) in exactly the same fashion, so he had it coming.

Plus he randomly took out Cherki and should have been sent off for a tackle on Savinho.

The man is generally out of control.

You can critique all you like but I reserve the right to mock some random sat on a sofa who thinks he knows more about football than Pep Guardiola. Oh and we won so I'd say he set us up perfectly.
Alan Ball and Stuart Pearce had higher grade coaching qualifications than almost every "random sat on a sofa". Does that mean we have to stop criticising the crap we had to watch while they coached us?

Still blows my mind when we beat clubs like Madrid, and the other European giamts. Gotta be 90s City PTSD. Great result against a snide Madrid. Not seen a team dive, cheat and moan like that since Mourinho's early 2000s Porto side.
Oooh I don't know, there's a team wears red and have a busy line in letter headed notepaper in that there 'norf landan' that are in line as successors to the Porto and Madrid snide crown. And who lead the way on tactical timeouts....

BTW I agree with your post, so frustrated every time they went down got a free kick. Odious.

As I posted last night,I'm desperate for one of ours to cause him an ACL injury. I know that is one of the worst but he has karma due to come his way soon.
