Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Our midfield was so open, Nico G did very well but you can see where our major vulnerability is, I love Bernardo hes been brilliant for us but he's not got enough to play that role with Nico G. Can see why Viana and Pep want Anderson you put him next to Nico G and that midfield is solid.

I was very happy to see Rudiger get a penalty against him for rugby tackling, something we've not really got in our favour this last year, and if you watch back the first goal from the corner, he hauls down Nico (?) in exactly the same fashion, so he had it coming.

Plus he randomly took out Cherki and should have been sent off for a tackle on Savinho.

The man is generally out of control.
doesnt get talked about enough how much of a complete psychopath this guy is.

Bernardo was definitely being asked to do too much - lead the press, provide width, cover midfield. Just doesn’t have the pace to do it, but he'll run as much as he can.

Think if we could replace Bernardo with a box to box midfielder (like i thought Reijnders would be) our midfield wouldn't be over run so easily. Nico G did an amazing job and was one his own far too often.

Ref was an absolute bottle job that shit himself because of the crowd.

The assault on Doku at the corner flag was well worthy of bringing back for a yellow. Rudiger could have had 5 yellows - a few for just being a prick. Love that Bellingham bottled his chance.

Commentators and pundits on TNT a disgrace. Making excuses for Real all night - "they have a full team missing".

If it wasn't for Courtois it would have been 6
The commentary was fukin disgraceful .
Will we ever hear a decent commentary instead of some no mark jock who was bearly understandable

Yeah, brilliant win but lucky they didnt have their shooting boots on as they had plenty of chances despite their injuries (and the woodwork helped out). But hopefully helps us progress without the play offs and potentially a stronger squad for the knockout stages if we add 1 or 2 in January plus Rodri

Or Rodders of course.

I will also add, as per earlier post, but Phil was dreadful last night, just invisible and that doesn’t help the midfield. He did next to nothing for chasing back, poor engine.

Important win. Wasn't a vintage performance, but a good win nonetheless.

Finally we see Rudiger punished for his nonsense. It's insane how long he was able to get away with it.

Thought there were times where we didn't know what to do when in possession. The shape was all over the place. But we showed a lot of calmness and composure - things that have been missing at times.

The defence was solid, a few errors in possession from Gvardiol but he grew into the game. Dias very good, O'Reilly and Nunes superb considering who they were up against.

Nico was fantastic - his best game for us. Doku was vital in getting us breathing room up the other end of the pitch and Cherki similarly knew when to slow the tempo down and was a joy to watch.

Haaland had his battles but for me, both him and Foden were miles off it. They didn't do enough off the ball in or out of possession. Bernardo might not be the player he once was, but he didn't stop running. I didn't see that from Phil or Erl.

Credit to Reijnders, Marmoush and Savinho - a collective sigh when they were shown to be coming on but they did the job effectively. Savinho got us down the pitch and whilst his final pass/shot was lacking he got us some respite.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer club, we went into a vipers nest of cunts and pissed on their chips. The appealing for everything with Mbappe up off the bench pointing at the screen in front of the ref, the shit music they play when they score, the shit megaphones in the crowd. Jude Bellingham and his serious face pouting and that thug Ruddiga thinking he can foul people without consequences.
Mbappe up off the bench was truly vomit inducing. A talent like that and still a tosser.
Bellingham - his attempted chip when there players were queuing up for a pass was hilarious.
