Premier League Games | 13/14/15 December '25

That's how Liverpool started the season and as I said at the time, they're not going to keep scraping last minute winners....

I hear both Arsenal goals were own goals too, so not like your strikers are on fire.
Yes, tonight we were shite. 1st half was like a pub team, misplaced passes etc. But this same team is 6 from 6 in the Champions League and is 5 points clear at the top of the PL (albeit having played a game more). Tonight isn't indicative of how we have played in the vast majority of our games. We played like tonight at Old Toilet, and in parts against Palace. Both games we won, just like tonight. Agree, if we'd played like this against City we'd have lost but we didn't so we move on. This same team gave Bayern and Atletico very tough matches.

Teams hit form and lose form over a season. Ideally when you play well you make sure you win your matches well and when you play badly you try and scrape a win, but at the least don't lose. Every team that has won a title has had matches like tonight. I think Wolves are vying with Southampton for being the shittiest PL team but I recall the Saints giving City some tough games in recent seasons. Just take the 3 points and run, it's an early Xmas gift and tonight is unlikely to represent how we will play against Everton just like when we convincingly beat Bayern a couple of weeks ago that didn't mean we would smash every team we played for the rest of the season. We beat Bayern by more than we beat Wolves but for sure Bayern are a better team!

Well the rags managed to win there a couple of weeks ago so I don't see why we should have anything to fear.

Probably won't be an easy game but then few are these days. If we can win at Madrid we can win anywhere.
Also, I think their results after Thursday night European games are very iffy

Chelsea's goal against Arsenal was offside btw. Swings and roundabouts. You can't bemoan one set of circumstances without looking at another. Hopefully it all evens out over the course of a season, although it does show that the semi automated offside is bollocks.
Well we knew that after Dias' phantom leap the other week. The whole VAR thing is bollocks anyway.

Any arsenal fans prepared to start the discussion of how terrible a signing Gyokeres has been yet?

Fistly how good was Danny Tiatto, he always seemed to be a sound buy on Championship Manager 25 years ago

In answer to your Q. Yes and no. Because A) it's early days B) £60m as insane as it sounds isn't a large outlay in the modern CF market C) no one is picking out his runs for the most part

D) I like to have faith in a player even if it's blind faith.

So yes we might have signed a big heavy high earning dud. That is probably the reality but my romantic side isn't giving up on him just yet. He hit the post about 2 times I'll have you know

Fair comment, but I dont think you've been that convincing in the PL for the last few weeks. Not saying that we've been any better overall, but signs are we're getting stronger. I just don't see that with Arsenal

Good point that, yes, a lot of the teams playing Thursday night EU football are not used to it so probably not quite as used to preparing for a weekend match a few days later as we are.

(we'll probably get battered now I've said that)

That ex Coventry striker may be good enough for the Championship!

Yeah, it will come down to him and Wirtz from the scousers for PL newcomer of the year.

Yeah I wanted to give him time, and he has been good at occupying defenders but there were moments when balls were played across and he just didn't make the move.

Kind of wish we'd gone for either Ekitike or Woltemade TBH.

Could have picked a league one lump for a fraction of the price. Would have been just as effective.

And I'd hazard a guess these Monday night games coincided with it being a champions league week of fixtures thus keeping the red mardarses relevant and in the loop.
Preferential treatment one would say
I thought the exact opposite. Putting them last in the fixture list each weekend, because they’re nobody these days.

Are they? Everton are bang average, should be a routine win, Brighton at home, again, routine win, villa at home could be tough and Bournemouth have fallen off a cliff lately. I'd be surprised if they're not getting at least 12 points.
Followed by Liverpool & utd. We’ll see

Need to fuck off with calling Newcastle Sunderland a Derby they aren't even in the same city, might as well call City/ Leeds or Sheffield a Derby.
