Antoine Semenyo | Considering triggering the £65m release (p13)

I'm interested to see if Heskey gets a shot in the league cup tomorrow and can potentially play himself into contention over the next few weeks until Doku returns. There's probably somewhere between 0-1% chance of it happening but you never know. Otherwise it's likely we'll see Savinho either wide left or wide right with Cherki switched to the left. Bobb would be the other option of course.
Could even try Reinjders in another position.

For some reason Pep doesn’t seem to ‘trust’ our youth players to step up into the first team, shame as this game is an opportunity to try out at least a couple of second stringers…..

My hope is for Anderson first then a wide player and I would be happy if both arrived, its a long shot though.
Anderson too would be pushing it. Savinho, Marmoush and despite my asserstions of Bobb after the Leverkusen defeat would be good for this season in terms of attacking depth. Ake is the more pressing concern.

Love to see him again last time he played he looked ok

That’s an answer for other posters to make.. I’m pointing out to you that what I believe.. now if you said the same to me I’d reread my post try to understand why you say that then make an opinion..
you just post to keep the forum ticking over because you don’t post sense and you contradict yourself so many times. That is your reply to my post.

Not sure about this guy
Decent player but is he that good?
The stats say otherwise.
Not expecting huge numbers but they should be better than this.
Not sure what our budget is over next two windows but if we can get Anderson that would excite me far more than Semenyo
I know it’s different positions and all that
That being said any upgrade on sav would be welcome, also don’t like the idea of bobb leaving, sure he’s just going through a lack of confidence.
So a miss from me with semenyo

I think this is overstated.. along with the opposite that Pep gives youth a chance..

I think he looks for certain things that the team is lacking and that's why Nico O'Reilly, Rico Lewis have made it.

My personal belief is he's looking for big guys who won't get bullied off the ball easily in the EPL along with technical skills. So whoever fits that mold has an obvious advantage!

It's a bit like Rico Lewis would be a Bundesliga/ La Liga great but in the EPL he looks out of his depth at times.

He certainly doesn't rate the level of academy/EDS football and some of those that have had chances have been quite left field but are clearly based on attitude, character and specific abilities he feels we need.

There's something about Reigan Heskey... Feel like he could appear for us but as I said might be way off the mark there. He played tonight v Real Madrid along with a lot of our best academy lads so might not see too many tomorrow.

Mukasa wasn't involved so we will see him and we might see some get put on the bench and play some part as with the Huddersfield game.

That long throw he has would also be useful.

His long throw is excellent.
It’s not one of those either where he has to be level with the 18 yard line and he just gets it in the box. We are talking a huge throw-in ability, from, well, even the half way line he could just reach the pen area.

It could be a big weapon for us to use. Obviously Lijnders and Toure might need to twist Peps arm to use it.

Another plus for him is his ability in the air.
Not only is he tall but he has a great leap and wins most aerial duels. Defensively he’d be a huge help.

For what we want from him going forward I have some doubts as he won’t have much space to use like he has at Bournemouth but if he does sign he would certainly be a good squad member and I’d take him. As an all round player he definitely improves the squad.

Would rather see him in our team over any of our rivals. Not as good as Arsenal getting Eze but he’s still a very good player. Thought he was excellent against United yesterday but don’t recall him having a great game against top teams. Having said that he probably doesn’t get the ball as often against the good teams for Bournmouth. For the buyout price looks like a good deal. Wonder if they would take Savi in exchange

Went with a mate to watch Bristol City play at Preston in an end of season dead rubber 3/4 years ago
Semenyo played as a centre forward and was probably the 17th best player on the pitch, bang mediocre. Weak, shocking first touch
And yet he scored a good goal
Granted he has improved since then after being reinvented as a goal scoring wide man and development isn’t always linear
But I would have called an ambulance and insisted you were sectioned immediately if you suggested that guy would ever play for City
