He said: ‘I don’t think a decision has been made. As you know from last time, Guardiola tends to leave it quite late before committing. There is a feeling around the industry that he will leave in the summer of 2025, however I currently have no evidence to back this up.’
Vinny would walk over broken glass to come back here, it's whether we want him to, or not. Please no.
I think there's only one suited to the job and its Vinny. Pay Bayern whatever they want.
Lego head has shown himself to be a proper **** since being manager at Arsenal. No thanks.City will have a contingency plan in place, just in case Pep doesn’t extend.
It’s not a surprise that Maresca is on that list. By law of averages, he’ll have been sacked by Chelsea by then.
It’s just a shame it wasn’t Arteta’s name mentioned. The Tarquin headless would have been superb.
What Ornstein means is not "feeling around the industry" but is just the wishful thinking from his odious press pals or the usual suspects connected to LFC and MUFC. They have been saying this about Pep for the last nine years. It all smells of desperation.16 May 2024

Man City: Pep Guardiola exit date hinted as expert reveals 'feeling around the industry'
'There is a feeling in the industry' that Pep Guardiola will leave Manchester City at the end of next season, according to reports.www.football365.com
Asked a question about his future during a Q&A, Ornstein sat on the fence but hinted that Pep will be off next year.
No chance, too clever to come here.Vinny would walk over broken glass to come back here, it's whether we want him to, or not.
cricket will be over soon enough then bruce can joinSteve Bruce and Neil Warnock probably.
golf course not a chance straight into rags hot seat with omar incharge theirThere are a lot of rather awful journos about in the way they slyly dig at City with jealousy -Liew, Ronay, Ian Herbert (by name and nature), Delooney to name 4 of them - but Ornstein isnt one of them. He doesnt post articles that often but when he does its usually well sourced and hes well connected.
On Pep, I think this likely is the last season as it makes 10 and if we can win something and he leaves a developing young team full of class players, he will hand things over in a good spot.
I do fear for his successor, whoever it may be - you dont really want to be the man who follows the man...youre better off being the man who follows the man, who followed the main man! Unless you are Bob Paisley of course who rather bucked that train of thought.
Still think we are a tad short of being able to win the League this season - unless a class holding midfielder arrives in January to support Nico Gonzalez - but if we won a domestic pot and finished in the top 3, I think Pep may see that as a safe time to leave the stage. After 10 years and so many epic battles he must be knackered and longing for a but more sunshine and the golf course which hes more than earned.
The key, as noted elsewhere, is "well placed sources outside the club."
If Ornstein is reporting it, it's legit. He's hearing it and they are "reliable" sources. Question is how "reliable" they are for City information and how much they might be using their access and credibility with Ornstein to do a favor for Maresca/Mendes.
At large, it's not that controversial a story, other than the potential timeline. Of course City has a list to consider whenever Pep decides to move on. He's stayed longer than any of us could have dreamed, and there's been a list of potential replacements since he started. That Maresca, who was well liked by Pep and the club, and has been successful, all things considered, at Chelsea, would be on that list shouldn't really be news to anyone.
Pep's seemed more irritable than usual of late, and more directly critical in his pressers, IMO. Might not mean anything, but it might too.
Maresca's agent looking for a new contract.
I'm supposed to take "according to sources from outside the club" seriously?
Arne SlotYeah, that was my first thought; what are the other names mentioned?
