Enzo Maresca "high among candidates" to replace Guardiola if he leaves next summer

I always thought a reason Pep and his wife broke up was because of how into his job he was here at City.

She probably didn't see him much, expected him to leave years back, and didn't want to be in England.

Seems weird they would divorce and then he immediately leaves the job which (possibly) broke them up in the first place.
Barca or Arndale Centre………no contest

Pep has to be replaced. After this season, the following season or the season after. It's just inevitable.

Anyone else is a step down in many ways but not all. Pep isn't the infallible strategist and tactician I once thought he was. He has got plenty wrong over long periods of time to balance with the more things he has got right over a long period of time.

I welcome the new chapter whenever it happens. A new manager is always exciting. I would respectfully thank Pep as we have great managers and players in the past but I don't think we should be lighting candles and such.

I don't know who are the decent managers out there so I've no idea how likely any are to succeed at City but I'd back them and scrutinize them as I have all managers we've had... I loved many and Pep will definitely be amongst the ones I loved the most.
More than Mel Machin?

Not a bad record

Especially considering only three members of his squad have ever won anything big in their careers (Sterling 4 PLs, James 1 CL, Fernandez 1 WC… Palmer has too but even he admits be wasn’t a key player in doing so).

And that’s it.

Most of the rest of the squad are inexperienced either in years or in winning big trophies.

I think he's handled the step up in level, politics and largely mediocre squad there pretty well

Pretty much whoever we get will be a downgrade unfortunately.
Don’t forget, Maresca is dealing with, shall we say, unconventional owners/board. Anything over 60% win rate is good.

Of course Pep is not infallible but he has won enough league titles to sustain a claim to be the best. 71% win rate at City!! Who among the candidates would be able to match that?

I'v watched a lot of football in my lifetime. And for a manager to win a treble, break the records he has, produced generation after generation of teams that win (This is just City I am talking about) and right now, he is producing yet another generation of the team.... Those sort of managers are once in a lifetime. Nobody else right now matches up to that.

And he's not even finished at City yet. Who knows what we will win this year.

So you might welcome a new manager, but will never achieve what Pep has at our club, not over a ten year period.. in fact I tend to think we could go the way of utd (If our owners are not careful) constantly looking for that magic to replace what we've lost. I wont find that exciting myself.

Media mischief! Ashan on 93:20 pod has been ferreting away and he’s been told Pep will be there next season and possibly beyond I’d trust him more than any journalist
Im sure Ornstein is a dipper Client Journo, not a coincidence our form has upturned so the destabalisation has begun, 115 regurgitated by our friends at Reach and the obigatory Pep leaving, even though hes honoured every contract throughout his career.
Predictable and tedious against the medias favourite club.
