If we are honest, he was fairly crap for 89 minutes of that game but special players make the difference when the team and they're having poor games, foden does it, cherki is rapidly adding his name to that list.

I wouldn't say he was crap but I know where you're coming from.

Disagree. Sure, if you are Messi level, it may not matter. But there is a level below that of fantastic players who are system and style dependent. For some of those guys they have to adapt.

He’s so much better than I thought he’d be, I have to hold my hands up o thought he’d be like a 21 year old Nasri, very hot an miss and a bit of a luxury but capable of brilliance.

Knowing how physical the French league is he's already pretty resilient to it and seems to be good at riding tackles when he thinks its advantageous.
