Classic City games

I started watching City and have had a season ticket ever since 1983-84

Here’s my list of classic City matches from 1983-4 to now.

I’ve gone for the good, the bad and the ugly. I’m sure I’ve probably missed some stone cold classics.

Glad you mentioned Hamburg 2009. Still on of the best atmospheres I've experienced at the Etihad that.

Still not over this but I would’ve loved to have watched this as a neutral

So many great memories in here. Some of these games still give me goosebumps, classic City in every sense. Looking back at these classic City games really shows how much the visual style has changed over the years. I’ve actually been spotting similar retro influences while browsing the Unionslots recently. It’s a brilliant library for anyone interested in technical slot machine reviews and the evolution of the best slot games UK market. It’s quite a decent resource for comparing game specs without all the usual noise you get on other sites.

The little devil's finest hour

Some of those classic City games still live rent-free in my head, especially the ones where the atmosphere just felt electric from the first minute. Funny enough, I was rewatching highlights and chatting with a few mates about old matches the other night while killing time on Pin-Up online Kenya, which I sometimes use for a bit of entertainment between games. It’s strange how revisiting those moments reminds you just how far the club has come since those days.

Would like to nominate a night match against Liverpool first home game. 1991 Season? David White on fire that night scored twice the second off the bar very like Hurst in the World Cup final. Liverpool threw the kitchen sink at us pulled one goal back and had a penalty saved. Maine Rd packed scousers filled the Platt Lane but the noise off the Kippax deafening. The roar that greeted our 2 1 victory was spine tingling a great start to that season but another false dawn.

One of the best atmospheres I can recall at Maine Rd, and a very memorable night for those of us that were there.

The video is short and doesn't capture how loud we were that night, but it will jog a few memories for those of us standing in the rain outside the Kippax waiting for the turnstiles to open.

Agreed and the 2-2 with Sunderland I’d argue the atmosphere was even better should have won that and the cup

Highlight in a bad period, but the Kinky show. Still cannot believe we drew this game 3-3:

Dean Saunders missed the penalty on his debut after signing from Derby.

His previous game at Maine Road saw Niall Quinn save his penalty and Derby went down.

Both at the Platt Lane.

In my head that was the last of the great Swales’ creative attendances as the place looked packed but the official crowd seemed…lower…
