Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

I watched his post-match interview and apart from the fact that I rarely have a clue what the fuck he's talking about, he flat-out lied about him saying that dropping points in this game would be the end of the title race.

I wish he'd just come out and be honest occasionally instead of peddling the deluded bullshit he usually comes out with.

The most frustrating part for me.

He half laughed as well and mentioned the game in hand and against Arsenal, like that’s a nailed on win.

If he said the league is over he is admitting failure. Something he will never do due to his ego and stubbornness.

We all know it's gone. And so is the CL.

It was game over for Pep when he ostracised Cherki for a piece of brilliance against Sunderland.

That’s when I knew he’d totally changed as a manager. He’s gone from allowing our best players to express themselves and play fast attacking flowing football, to this boring structured slow football.

Pre Christmas when we were red hot, our lineups pretty much always included Nico G, Foden, Cherki and Doku behind Haaland. Only Doku gets in the the lineup now.

And fucking idiots critics Haaland for the goals drying up, are you fucking surprised going from that lineup to Silva, Rodri, Semenyo and Marmoush. They’ve not got a forward pass between any of them.

We’ve got the best 9 in the world and we’re not playing to his strengths. It’s fucking nuts.

Question to everyone moaning about our attacking play.

Who is the most exciting attacking team in the Prem?

I agree it’s not us.

It’s not Arsenal who are 1st in the league and the most boring probable Champions I’ve seen.

It’s not United in 3rd?

Just watched Chelsea fail to score against a Newcastle side who we just battered.

Is the Premier League boring because of all the low blocks, possession, big strong athletic players rather than skillful players?

The stuff we moan about with Pep, I see at every team at the moment.

Who is getting it right in terms of exciting and attacking football this season?
I'm not saying that they're a clone of the 2011 Barca side. But Brentford are not unattractive to watch.

So don't talk about dropping points in the first place. But we've seen him say things like this in the past and it's useful to potentially lull the team ahead into complacency, leading to them dropping points.

Everyone spends money, some do it better.

We used to be the latter but now have fallen into the former category which was also going to happen unless we managed to find the equivalent for the players that left.

Pep is not training the players. This is the single most important matter. He gives them rest and time off and that’s ok if you have a well oiled machine. We don’t, his experience is telling him to do this but he is doing it with players who are not as good as those that left.Never seen players look so in pep.

It’s just a mess. Everyone is trying but we can’t get the training, tactics nor performances and spend time doing not much for 90 min. Waiting for? Don’t know anymore.

The ship is rudderless at present. Everyone needs to sit down in the summer and look at the mistakes.

I would rather we had a smaller squad this season and not compete on 4 fronts. It was clear that injuries and players leaving was always going to cause unrest but we have not helped ourselves.

Time to clear out the old and some new players that have not worked.

It doesn’t have to be. The club are letting it get to that point.

What relevance is Arteta, he used to make cups of tea for Pep. That’s how low it’s got, Pep being beaten by his errand boy.

See right through you with that post full of negativity then throw in that childish bit at the end! We are at a start of a rebuild if your not happy after 1 season of the start of rebuild maybe your expectation is because we made history in the last 10 years and you expect 1st every season for ever more or you will post childish negativity.

Have a look at definition of “Support”

You are making out Arteta is winning it because he has turned them into a formidable force over the past 6 years when he really hasn't they are crap, the only issue is we are worse & its not because we are rebuilding its because some of the players we have bought are crap & because Pep is getting his selection & subs wrong. As for it might take us 3/4/5 years to win it again yes it will take us that long if Pep stays. Arsenal are top because we can't beat Forest & West Ham, Arsenal are top because Pep thinks Reijnders is the man to positively change the match for us. We got battered by a team that had no Bellingham, Rodrygo or Mbappe & who had just lost to Osasuna, is that because we are rebuilding? No its because Pep got it massively wrong AGAIN.

Players need time and that post is pure knee jerk I want instant success!

We are second in our first real year of a rebuild! I will give players time I know some won’t but anyone expecting to win the league beginning of the season were mad! I bet no one did, now we had a real chance they are sulking they can’t take it! Maybe it’s because Everytime we actually been in this position we went on and won the league!

It shouldn’t fucking be up to him, the club need to make a decision. Pep treats this club like he’s doing us a favour being here, it’s ridiculous.

City isn’t here for his ego. He can want what he likes, the club need to have a serious think if we as expected end up with nothing this year if we really want to go into a third year going backwards.

I think the management will more than likely be the ones who decide such things, despite your thoughts.

He,s got history with his centre forwards over his career.
Just let them score goals Pep

Pep will stay after 115 regardless of which way the charges go. And for the new north stand opening. And another Summer transfer window. He’ll have one last crack at the PL title and the CL next season. He won’t want to leave trophyless this season if City don’t win a trophy.
The next few games decide if this season ends in relative success or failure. If the season ends poorly I see him leaving unless significant improvements are made during the summer in terms of playing resources.

Totally agree with this. The low blocks and anti football tactics being introduced, is making the whole league so boring to watch. It’s why players like Haaland have no space. In order to thread balls through these packed defences you need De Bruyne’s level of brilliance, and even then it’s difficult. Premier league football is awful to watch across the board. Time to change the rules..
what rules you change?

Why is it tripe? You dont think Mancini or Pellegrini would have been able to win 1 Champions League in the past 10 years with the players we have had? Tbh i think most managers would have won it once with the squads we've had.
i agree that Pep should have won more than 1 cl in his last 15 seasons with both Bayern and City.

I think Peps tried to evolve with the league but in doing that we’ve gone away from his basic principles in how football should be played.

We’ve gone from players good on the half turn and small spaces , to players good at transitions and just ball progression. We’ve gone from a keeper that can play out to a keeper that struggles with that.

We’ve gone from technical players that could open solutions all over the pitch , to players that don’t have that technical ability or thinking.

Pep still wants to keep control, but we don’t have the players to open that door like a David Silva, Gundo or Kev type apart from Cherki.

So what we get is a team that struggles playing out from the back , relies on transitions to break another team open when we don’t have those transitions your stuck with sideways passing /possession without substance.
this is it ,now is the same question again. Why is City buying those players they have in the last 2 seasons? Cherki could become a very good player and maybe Guehi ,the rest is not up for it. Loads of money have been spent the last 3 tranfser windows and team plays the same as last spring.
