42 | Antoine Semenyo - 2025/26

Two best performances have come at LW & RW. Who knew a player with a loose first touch & dodgy ball control should be nowhere near the half spaces & not playing in between the lines as a 10?

Been here since january...
Good to see the goals being shared around this season

Stand outs for me are Nico, Cherki and Semenyo

Nico played most of the season at left back, Semenyo only been here 3 months, and Cherki certainly hasn't been a regular all season

Interesting to see Foden is still our 2nd goalscorer, but good to see Reijnders up there as well

At the other end its poor to see the returns of Doku and Savinho, which is becoming a bit of a recurrence

EDIT: just checked and I cant believe Savinho has only one league goal in a City shirt (46 apps) and that Doku has 7 (80 apps)

Pep early in the season tried a tactic of getting Doku more central off the left and he did look dangerous especially with his dribbling. But that dragged an extra defender into the box as he is always double marked. I think he used that and doesn’t get Doku near the box as it drags the two men away while getting Nico O’Reilly into those spaces that Doku used to occupy. With Nico’s physicality he dominates the space on the ground as well as in the air.

Savinho, well as bad as his numbers are I’m still convinced there is a top player in there. And he is young aswell.

Interestingly there was a twitter thread released last year that talked specifically about Savinho’s bio mechanics when he comes to striking the ball. Safe to say they are terrible lol, but I personally think it’s something he needs to seriously work on, aswell as confidence and composure. Mental side of the game.

Good today again. Consistently a threat and worked his bollocks off too. A fantastically reliable outlet.

Definitely works very hard off the ball, amd absolutely no complaints there.

But I wanted more from him on the ball.

Brilliant observation mate, make a lot of sense and shows how coaches earn their corn.

Didn't have a good first half, didn't seem to know what to do with Cucurella and constantly let him go. Fixed that second half and put in a real great shift both ways.

Did some great things, some delightful touches and control but then messed up with some of the basics, should have given Haaland a tap in, should have scored when he walked on to a bender into the top corner and ballooned it and still don't know what he was trying when he side footed it back to the keeper instead of shooting. Not his day in that regard but still played a role. Got to be going at whoever plays left back for Arsenal next week, he's a potential game winner.

His first touch every time seemingly wants to set himself up to shoot which is a bit odd, he worked hard and was dangerous in spells but he was a bit sloppy I thought.

Maybe overly harsh but do this next week and that could be in the back of the net

Did all the work to win it then his touch turned into a pass putting the pressure bang on Kova

Was a bit more selfish than necessary. Wasted some really goot opportunities with hopeful shots. But his place is not in doubt. Important cog in the machine.

Couple of games ago, Rodri tried to bring the ball out of defense, and fucked up, he turned round to his defense and was giving his defense a right rollocking, till he saw it was Semenyo behind him, he is not just good going forward.

Funny thing but Omar is much better at that bit. He actually likes to come deep and get the ball and move it upfield or just launch it!
