Most games at 'New' Wembley - Updated stats on Page 4

What about all time appearances at Wembley full stop, not just the new version? I reckon we might even be top of that too. What a thought.

It’s something I’ll definitely look into.

With a very quick mental calculation, we made 13 appearances at the old stadium (happy to be corrected if that’s wrong). My gut feeling is that when you combine the old and new stadiums, the rags will be quite a few ahead of us - they played in a lot of Charity Shields there in addition to plenty of cup finals.

Was it not the final we had to queue for as I distinctly remember watching replays (at least 4 full replays of the game) of the semi final on the screens ? Got there about 7.30 am and picked up a ticket about 15.00 pm.
Every chance remember queuing for something inside concourse of East Stand :-)

done every game since 2011 i have been allowed including the spurs visits, only one i couldnt attend was the league cup final v spurs, and obviously the other covid games.

With Chelsea’s win in today’s SF, we’ll continue to share first place in the appearances list for the time being. With no Wembley Community Shield next season, that’s going to be the case until the business end of next season at the earliest.

I’ll post the updated top 10 list in a few weeks from now once all this season’s playoff finalists are known.

Only 17 for me. Don’t do Charity Shields and only done 3 semis. Did manage the Spurs cup final in Covid. Had to have a Lancashire, Cheshire or Manchester postcode I think and, even though I live in Barrow, our postcode is LA as it used to be in Lancashire until 1974.
Problem is I follow England too. I’ve been to over a hundred aways so I reckon I must have done at least 80 at Wembley since it reopened in 2007.
So, if you think you are bored of the place, spare a thought for me!

TThe fact
I've not included any games where Tottenham were the home team. Those would artificially elevate Spurs to 59 appearances, guaranteeing them first place for several more years at least.
The fact we've played more than a Premier League* season of home games at Wembley is astounding.

*had to say Premier League in case next someone reads it and mistakes the EFL for the PL

How many were affected by Covid, cheers
For us one, our LC Final against Spurs in 2021 was a pilot event that allowed 8000 fans.

Other finals affected by Covid not involving us:
FA Final in 2020 Arsenal V Chelsea - behind closed doors.
FA Final in 2021 Leicester V Chelsea - pilot event that allowed 20,000 fans.

I think the Rags are > 50

But I was surprised to see that their first time wasn't until 1948

Why is the community shield not at Wembley ?

Do I get a bonus point to add to my total of 20 for having been born there ? Best thing I did was move to Manchester as soon as I left home though .

On another point a question for fellow frequent flyers , do you mix and match where you sit or always aim for the same block ? I've been all over the place which helps me remember each game but prefer to be high up on level 5 behind the goal to match my SS3 season ticket view .

Chelsea in the final will be 32, the two PL games v Spuds takes it to 34, adding the 13 at the old Wembley makes 47 so it's more than an EFL season (non including play-offs). - We'd be looking at 50 visits had two Charity Shields not been moved in the past and this year being in Cardiff (assuming we win the PL or FAC).
Wembley is second in my list of away venues (6 at old Wembley and 26 at new Wembley including spurs in PL) which is strange as I used to see a lot of away matches.

Prefer the upper tier and we usually aim for cheap seats. The view from the side blocks is better but it's pretty good behind the net especially if we score at our end as v Arsenal a few weeks ago.
