Pep to leave at the end of the season

Gutted obviously, we all want him to stay forever but we all know it's either this year or next year anyway.

Still, exciting times too. A new era.

the reality is EVERY other manager is a downgrade, so we have to take that on the chin. But we did win things before Pep, so the club know how to be a winning club with or without him. It's highly unlikely we will have the same sort of dominance without him but so be it, that's football. We had an unbelievable run that can't last forever

As long as the club operates well and we bring in the right managers, we will still win things.

Let's see, there's no confirmation whether he's got a week or a year.

Looking forward to Pep saying after tomorrow’s game, I told you I was staying but you’d rather listen to lies from a Stockport county supporting floppy haired journalist son of Emily Bishop ****. So I’ll tell you again, I’ve got a contract for another year and I’m honouring it you thick cunts. Goodnight
Make it so - please!

If he's finished, leaving now is the clever way to do it. Not happy of course but better he leaves now than stay in place as a lame duck imo.

Absolutely gutted. Thought we'd at least get one more year out of him.

What I would say is that unlike some other legendary managers, he's actually left the squad in a great place for the next man.

Its a difficult one. Not many want him gone obvs. And with a year left on his contract I was hoping he'd see that out. However the risk is the team underperforms like we've seen so many times before when managers announce they are leaving.

No one man can replace him. And in some ways its a thankless task. His achievements are frankly ridiculous. This is a huge test around the clubs contingency planning. Wish Pep all the best in whatever he does. Thank you Pep!! Tears were shed tonight....

The major worry I have when Pep leaves is becoming a club that starts looking unsettled. I'm not concerned about not dominating English football and winning the league almost every season. I accept that would inevitably come to an end and titles may be a bit more sporadic. That's OK.

When you have the same manager for so long, it's a well oiled machine, almost everyone feels settled.

The worry is if we start changing managers as often as other clubs have had to because its not working, which inevitably leaves players unsettled and possibly major players a bit more open to leaving the club.

The trust the club will make good decisions. I think our last 3 managers were all successful appointments at the right time.

A fantastic 10 years. Much longer than we could have dreamed possible. All good things come to an end. I got a feeling Palace will get a point on Sunday so if we can win last 2 games he might be leaving us with a treble which would be his greatest achievement ever

It's come as a bit of a shock tbh as I think we all thought he'd stay another year but he's leaving on a high with two domestic trophies and unbridled success over the last decade. What a guy, always sticking up for our club, and a funny bugger too! A football genius who's helped make so many very good players become greats. Lets give him a huge blue send off whatever happens for these last 2 games! Then it's time to get right behind the lads and the new manager.

To be fair I too was in denial as I expected Pep to see out his remaining 12 months plus a possible further one year extension, based on him always seeing out a contract.

As a graduate from the school of mindless optimism, I still do.

"If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through".

We've heard Pep's supposedly gone a number of times throughout his tenure. Until the club comes out officially I'm not buying anything.

If he does leave, the show goes on and we open up an exciting new chapter.

If anyone wants to cling on to hope still…

Maybe Pep may still honour his contract of another year mentoring Maresca?
If so i think it will help soften the blow of him walking out of the door very soon.

Still going to be hard to accept him leaving though, but none of of us ever thought he'd be here 10 years. Let's all be grateful he has won us so many trophies getting us playing some of the best football the world has ever seen.
