Pep to leave at the end of the season

Jack Gaughan on a podcast saying that it's not out of the realms of possibilities that after a break Pep takes the England job.

I see the hairy daughter's friend shagger couldn't help himself on Talkshite this morning with multiple mentions of 115.

Got to be honest, I was disappointed when Maresca went to Chelsea, as even then I saw him as a nailed-on successor to Pep. I don’t recall why, :-) as I thought he wouldn't be able to take the City job.

The management structure at Chelsea comprises owners who have a massive ego and think they can run a football empire they have 5 DoF, five, they interfered with team selection using the medical staff to put pressure on Enzo. In the end, he had reached breaking point, and it was then, if reports are to be believed, that he informed them that City had approached him about the possibility of taking over from Pep. Subsequently, he forced the issue with a post-match interview.

He clearly wants the job and isn't scared of following Pep. He will have the total support of Khaldoon and the executive management team, and his appointment will have been run past Pep. The plans have been in place for Pep to go, whether it’s 2026 or 2027. He clearly wasn’t extending, and reports are that the players who signed in the summer, but for sure the January signing, were told this is Manchester City you are signing for, not Pep, and he definitely wouldn't be around past summer 2027. They still signed.

I’ve been in the camp that he stays until I heard of the planned event at the Coop Live, which I didn’t think added up as something to do just for the club's teams this summer and Jonny and Bernie leaving.

I think there is a possibility of him having a role in CFG. If so, he will still be at City next season but not necessarily at the Etihad or CFA. He won’t be a shadow over Maresca but will be available if he needs him.

If Enzo does get appointed, I wonder if Will Caberlero will become the new GK coach, as he worked under him at Chelsea. Then, as it stands, we just need a fitness coach, which I would guess will be an internal appointment. There may be further Pep Team leavers, but the core team of Pep, Lijnders, Kolo, and Adam French will remain, maintaining continuity.

City are in great shape, and I, for one, will have total trust in the club, so I will ignore all the BS that the media will peddle as it’s made up to suit their agenda and farm clicks for revenue. And remember, the likes of City Extra are no better, as again they want clicks for their aggregated content.

Up the magnificent Blues

BBC Dan Roan running the inevitable “Will the 115 verdict damage Pep’s legacy?” article.

Just can’t resist can they?
It’s the usual rehash of pretty much every allegation and smear by our so called rivals.
Funnily enough in the reams of smears and allegations there isn’t a mention that City were cleared by CAS of any wrongdoing or that the information was illegally obtained by a known fraudster. Rodent has also dug out a quote by Mourinho, the same Mourinho who narrowly avoided jail after being convicted of tax fraud.
