The Squad planning thread

Such a great take.

I don’t ever entertain any players from Madrid cuz who wants to leave there unless they acc kick you out. Tchou is good but I think he’ll suit Utd better.

I see your vision but I genuinely can’t think of any good comptroller besides Fabian Ruiz. He can do everything except cover ground and win duels i’d pick him for experience and his skillset. Let Anderson do the dirty work and all the heavy lifting. Give Cherki absolute freedom but to tell him to STAY HIGH like KDB did closer to the finishers.

Anderson and Fernandez sounded good to me cuz of how I see him and Caicedo and how he plays in Argentina.

I don’t think we’re gonna see the next Rodri anytime soon
!00% agree about finding next Rodri, we can throw it out the window

I'm more interested in a destroyer type player, something we had with Fernandinho, who could bully opposition and make tactical fouls if needed

Who’s the next Rodri then? Thats the big summer conundrum. Not sure Nico G is up to it
There is no next Rodri, we have to buy players with potential and develop them. Even rodri didn't come in as rodri but was pretty slow getting up to it in his first two seasons. We need to find the right player with the potential. Nico G isn't the one unfortunately.

Too much rotation from Pep and injuries meant the squad never really gelled this season but the bones are there. Keeping Gvardiol and Rodri are crucial for me given turnover elsewhere.

In:
- Anderson
- Enzo/Rogers/Fernandes
- Kroupi
- Ried
- Reis (recall from loan)

Out:
- Bernardo
- Stones
- Akanji
- Ake
- Grealish
- Lewis
- Phillips

Squad:

Donnarumma
Trafford

Nunes
(Ried)
Khusanov
Guehi
Dias
Reis (recall)
Gvardiol
Ait-Nouri

Rodri
Nico G
O’Reilly
(Anderson)
(Enzo/Rogers/Fernandes)
Reijnders
Cherki
Foden
Doku
Semenyo
Savinho

Haaland
Marmoush
(Kroupi)

We are not keeping Marmoush and Savinho. Both crap players.

He's normally good for info

Makes sense, dont blame him

Think hes been done dirty, he's been reliable and strong when hes had the opportunity which wasn't enough

Marescas style probably doesnt suit him, usually its one holding midfielder and then an inverted full back to support

With Anderson likely and Rodri probably going to stay, Nicos chances are slim

Not sure he'll be world class, but wouldn't surprise me if we regret it

Mate that’s £300m almost on 4 players. Behave.

Daft as it seems you could possibly spend that amount if you remove those players wages plus any fees you could generate. With the prize money from the prem guess around 160m plus extra revenue on attendances increasing. At least you would be spending genuine revenue so if all were given 5 year contracts it would only be 60m a year plus wages.

Yes I completely agree, we need some steel in our midfield. Someone who’s not A push over, bastard on the pitch. Really wish we had that in this title run

Not sure how reliable this source is, but Rodri reply about his future with City last week wasn't affirmative as well.

Maybe Elliot and one of Enzo Fernanez or Whatron could be a good replacement for the Spanish duo.

That's a blow!

I luv Pep, but he had me shaking my head at times over this lad's lack of playing time.
He held the midfield together when Rodri was out and it was his performances before Christmas that, in part, kept us in the hunt.

He must really want to leave, because for him, more than anyone, next season would be a much needed fresh start.

We can't afford to lose Rodri next season, there's too many leaving as it is.
