Let’s get organised - ITK

Think Viana is his primary source.
He’s become so big as a football journalist but really an influencer that him getting info really helps put pressure on deals.

Like the days of Madrid controlling the press. Well that’s no different but we used to see clubs use that as an effective tool to disrupt players and put pressure on deals

Every year we have to put up with chancers and Twitter accounts saying all kinds of transfer info.

I feel we should get organised and get ourselves as clued up as possible with a spreadsheet of all the people who say stuff, was it true, was it close etc.

Unfortunately I can’t but someone with basic excel skills could log all the rumours each day and we could end up with quite a reliable database in a few seasons.

Over time we can then get to know who we can trust, who tends to spout shit and we can then make up our own minds if the source is reliable.

This isn’t to create a backlash against individuals or say people lie, it would just be good to keep records.

Example:

Ollie Holt - DAILY MAIL - Broke Pep leaving news - TRUE
Now he might not always get City info first etc but least over time we’ll know the more Ollie Holt tweets about us.

Or even do it like this

NAME - SOURCE - PLAYER CONCERNED - HEADLINE - INFO DATE - TRUE/FALSE/OPEN

@JoeBoggs1 - Twitter - Anderson - City bid 50M - 27/5/26 - OPEN (W’ed only know if fee was bullshit once he signs)

Who wants to be the spreadsheet king/queen…. :-)
Here you go…
  1. Sam Lee for genuine City insight, however, from my time listening to him in LMT podcast I can tell you he values accuracy over speed, so often doesn’t release info first
  2. Romano for speed, but normally releases info before club verification, gets most of our transfer news right tho
  3. Jack Gaughan for City-specific movement (id rate him at the top in terms of speed and accuracy, but mainly for general city news)
  4. Simon Stone

Hahaha you’ll catch a netful with number 4

@BlazingMind_ on twitter, a city news aggregator, made this a few years ago (i’d give him a follow, he gets information from a great variety of journos and papers)
It’s a good guide to go off in general.
Now it is a few years old, so some journos will be more/less accurate.

Yeah, that’s like a basic version of what I meant. Cheers for posting, mate.

(This is definitely outdated though like you said, ha)
