24 | Joško Gvardiol - 2025/26

It probably doesn't help that Kovacic has an influence with the Real Madrid thing. I mean can you imagine them being here for 3 years and not talking about how things were at Real Madrid when he was there?

The sooner Kova is moved on -- the better for Gvardiol at our team.
Genuinely insane reasoning. No city player will be encouraging another to move elsewhere. Besides, kova wasn't appreciated in Madrid and was pushed out 7 years ago, so why would he have a glowing opinion on them?

Gvardiol has repeatedly spoken at virtually every opportunity about how Kovacic has helped him settle. he came here alone, no missus, no family and kova looked after him, including him in his own family activities, it's thanks to Kovacic that Gvardiol hasn't become unhappy living here.

By all accounts, our set up is top tier. Every player we've had since the takover has spoken glowingly about the facilities and player care. We do it as good as anyone, if not better.

Do you actually believe what you have written?
Yes. It’s what I would do and what I believe. What about what I said is wrong? If he left for Bayern, he’d go and farm Bundesligas under a coach that will probably be our coach within the next five years. Real Madrid is a circus right now. Look what happened to Huijsen and TAA when they went there. From good, highly desired players to bench warmers. Chaos

Well according to Gvardiol's agent.. he's looking to move. If that's for getting a bigger contract or he genuinely likes Madrid I don't know..

I would like Gvardiol to sign a new contract to stay with us.

And we'll be just fine without Kovacic.. we need to get younger in midfield.. desperately!

On what planet are Bayern considered irrelevant as for "chaos" at Madrid, what a load of shite. They ahve been run the same for the past 20yrs, team full of superstars, huge stadium and prestige. Why would Gvardiol not go there?

As for the arrogance of saying Kompany is coming to City as manager, embarrassing.

If we can sell for 120mill thats Anderson paid for with change, We already have his replacement in Guehi. Khus Dias Guehi Reis will be the 4 CBS.

Kova was non factor at Real Madrid

Yeah ,thasts loads of bs people make up. Just accept that City and England are no holy grail for all the best players and thats it. Still should try to get the best players in the world.

If you even read up on any type of news you’d know RM have been in chaos for the last two years. Don’t try and be patronising when you clearly know things have not been right on the pitch in ages. Glamorous on the outside but players have been infighting (physically) for months. Reported reliably by several reliable journalists.

If he really wanted to go to Bayern he would’ve gone there straight after Leipzig. Bayern never want to pay over the odds for top players either hence the irrelevant comment. No point in mentioning them in player races if the most they’ll ever pay is below City’s valuation.

Additionally, It’s not arrogant to say a City legend will probably manage City. Pep can say it but apparently everyone else is arrogant? Embarrassing

RM have had infighting for years. Did Gravesen not deck someone about 15yrs ago. Every club does btw, you’re deluded if you think otherwise.

Not really relevant, clearly wanted to come to the prem, win it, get coached by Pep and now can go back to Germany. What’s wrong with that?

Yes it is. Pep says a lot of things, means nothing. Completely different football to what City want to do but yeah we are going to tear all that up for Kompany.

I wouldn’t be mad if he wanted to go to PSG or Barcelona because those are proper clubs that have a very promising project. I’m not delusional enough to believe that the current state of this club is the pinnacle of football.

yeah ,but Real Madrid is still probably the biggest name in the world and Bayern quarantees you almost 1 title a season and a good chance at cl. Need to do everything to keep a player like Gvardiol, he is really good. Also need to be ruthless in transfer market now, last few years have been pretty dreadful.

The problem is that the infighting at Madrid is affecting behaviour on the pitch. You’ve got Vini Jr screaming at Xabi Alonso because he doesn’t want to be subbed off in El Classico (fair enough if he’s really that passionate) then you’ve got Bellingham ignoring Mbappe, and Carvajal talking badly about other players whilst sat on the bench as club captain. You’d expect some level of fighting in every dressing room but you’d also expect a face of loyalty on the pitch.

Even Kroos is doing podcasts talking about seeing a lack of unity and maturity.

His quotes from the other day seem to reinforce this:

We’ve all seen the various rumors coming from every direction. I’m happy at the club, I have everything I need. Before the injury I played every match, almost full minutes. After the World Cup we’ll see what happens next.
