Raheem Sterling character assassination part zzzzzzzz, going on @ TalkShite with Saggers & Dempsey at the moment. The intro regarding his lack of respect for lpool was similar to one of those sad stories on Radio 1 from years back. Sob sob, fuckin nauseous.

If they do that then fair enough they'd be taking the piss but the asking price hasn't changed all summer. They want £50m yet we're trying to be clever by not meeting it and refusing to go over £40 million when we know full well they aren;t going to back down over the asking price. It's just a pointless dick measuring contest and is a waste of time.

We're trying to avoid spending any more than we need to.

Seems sensible to me, and the only damage us to the overworked wings of flapping types.

At least Sterling is taking the painful but necessary steps to come here. So far neither Pogba nor De Bruyne have shown this level of desire.

There's a lot of angst because City taking Sterling is a big deal in what it represents. It consigns Liverpool to the past. It rubber stamps their passport to oblivion otherwise known as the Europa League. Liverpool know it. The media know it. Every ex player having his say on Sterling knows it. It's the last flailing of a wounded beast before it limps off to die.

It would be tragic if it weren't so fucking hilarious.
