I had it done about 10 years ago and would say it has been worth every penny. I believe the cost has come down a lot since then - I paid £2500. Fully awake during the operation but you can't feel anything. Go for it!

I can live with a 6% increase in cost but not happy at the propect of having to move to East/West stands and probably ending up in 3rd tier. One of the people I go with can't walk that far and the other one won't be able to see. Great.

Oh bugger. My boiler plays up sometimes. Try turning everything off, leaving for half an hour, then turn it all on again with hot water and radiators set to full.

If his home needs to be adapted it has to be worth approaching Social Sevices where he lives to see what can be provided free or with support from a grant. Also depends on whether he is home owner, renting from social or private landlord, etc
